I like the One Button, being a fairly new player. but I wish I could edit it and make it more custom. For example, I want to decide when I use Bestial Wrath - So I would exclude that spell since sometimes it casts when there is 1 trash mob left at 5% life and then hit it when I am ready for it. Though I know that’s the downside of using it, but I feel allowing us to Edit would really make it feel more authentic (in my opinion)
at risk of sounding super condescending here
isn’t the BM rotation already like 3 buttons? lol is it really that big of a leap from the one button rotation that you can’t just idk… play the spec?
Sounds like you are asking for the ability to write macros.
We’ve got that.
Most specs are like 5 buttons if you boil them down to the super basics.
Like, almost all of them.
That’s true for Hunters, it’s true for Warriors, it’s true for Shamans, etc, etc.
There’s a reason so many MMOs and aRPGs function on more limited ability loadouts like that. It covers pretty much the basics.
WoW just has a dozen moderate to long CDs and situational utility things on top of that (for every spec).
Have an option to let the “one button” replace auto attack. I’m afraid I will break the key assigned to it by wearing it out.
Believe me I’m all for reducing ability bloat again. Shadowlands added back way too much in an attempt to pander to the classic crowd
that said to OP’s point I think using the one button assistant + manually managing major dps cd’s is not a huge ask from even the game lol
The one button should not be editable to make it an ideal rotation.
It should intentionally be bad.
I feel that if you have an advanced enough understanding of your spec to know when to use cooldowns, then you would be more than fine without the one button rotation.
I would suggest you just forget about the one button
Everyone should have one button that does damage and all their abilities in one shot. One person gets a turn, then the next person, then the next person. Only one attack can be sent by one person per raid or group per person etc. In a 40 man raid it would take like 40 minutes for everyone to get one attack in. LOL.
Why not just give the raid leader the one button and every time the raid leader presses the button, every single raider does a damage ability.
The raiders are only able to move their characters and select their targets.
I was just being the devils advocate and making an absurd suggestion due to all the one button issues.
VERY doubtful Ions going to allow it to be customized. I could be wrong, but its not in his nature. and this is supposed to be for beginners and people who dont want to learn their spec and accessibility. Hes likely to tell you if you want customization, just use your rotation with your many fingers.
I like the idea of a one button raid rotation. Then I could mythic raid just using my alts.
what the heck, we reverted back to a turn-based RPG like my good ole days of playing Final Fantasy.
Just make sure the raid leader announces over disc when my turn is and what attack they have lined up for me to use. Alright, Athernon, I’m going to have you go after Pint, and you’re going to use blood boil. Pint, you’re up, I need you to use Chaos Bolt, don’t worry I’ll press the buttons.
The OBR is significantly different from a /castsequence macro (like what GSE would use or that you could manually write with the existing macro interface).
cast-sequence is a fixed series of spells in order, while the OBR is adapting to whether there are single or multiple targets in what it recommends next. You could write an add-on to do that, but not a macro.
Well yes it does give a specific order but people are saying they don’t like the order and would rather change it. So if they did give you the ability to edit the order used by the one button it would no longer be using that information.
Pretty sure you can’t, since Blizzard already bricked one that they found doing that.
Which leads me to presume that the OP’s answer will also be a no.
