Skull Rock is dead - I made a mistake and rolled my first toons on Skull Rock. I’d like to be able to transfer them to Defias Pillager since that is the only chance at any active population. I don’t even care if its a paid transfer, I’m sick of them just rotting on that dead server.
I agree with this, one way transfer from skull rock to defias pillager. let’s empty as many people as possible from skull rock so it becomes the SF server.
The servers should be merged - zero reason to split the population.
Kind of nice to have two options incase you don’t like the community on one realm, or feel harassed by some sub-community of the realm, etc.
I would usually agree with you, except there isn’t a community on one of them. It’s just a barren wasteland on Skull Rock.
There’s a plan for a lot of the new sf players to launch on skull rock. If that helps anything. The ruleset of sf disappears after a char hits 60, so eventually some trading should come online.
Does the ruleset actually go away at 60? I know originally that was what was going to happen, or that was how it was interpreted, just wondering if that was ever clarified, or if anyone tested it.
that’s what blizz said.

Merge the dang servers
Why. Transfer is much better. If some like to play on a small server, then let them. You can just go to the more populated one. Why force people to be like you?
Only bad thing about transfers vs merging the servers is it does allow people to exploit the lower population server for resources, then transfer it to the other server, perhaps there are ways around that though, such as restricting transfers under level 35 or something, also not there is enough a population on Defias that it actually matters, as resources are pretty easy to farm on both servers.
Setting a level limit, or a limit on how often transfer should be allowed, alternately making it free once per account (for 1-50 characters at once) would solve this problem.
Disclaimer: I do not know about the US populations, but as the US solutions are normally also implemented in EU, I speak out against merge here -where Blizz listens - if indeed at all.
We, EU that is, do NOT need a merge - yesterday the “empty” server even experienced a queue - very short and short-lived - but it shows that merging would indeed be a bad move.
The issue is they’ve always had a gold limit for transfers but no limit on inventory. So you could stockpile loads of valuable items and then transfer getting around this limit.
You could try to use market prices to set a limit on value of such things or you could simply make a rule that only bound items could be transferred.
