Allow resing, here's why

I know, BLASHPHEMY. but first off i’ll say, idgaf about streamers, what streamers want. But i brainstormed this idea of resing. Totally rework how resing works, 24 hour cooldown, casted with reagents that aren’t easy to get, and a 10 hour or more res sickness for both the person that resed and the person WHO CAST the res and you only have 5 minutes to res on death, NO SPIRIT HEALER!!!.

I just think it would add an interesting dynamic to the game because now you have a medical economy. it would also had back in that fantasy element to the game and doing so with out taking away things from the game. The idea you could be ressed could also have players better behaved. I also just think the roleplay factor of it would make the game that much more dynamic.

I feel like it would also force players to have even better decision making a debuffed character is mark of shame and just as bad as a deleted character, but it’s also a mark of survival.

No i didn’t die, just thinking of how resing could actually be allowed to be in the game

Denial?

So you want the rich to be able to buy immortality and everyone else to be a dead peasant?

Kinda like part denial and part bargaining.

Not too far off from real life there eh?

Hear me out, because I also brainstormed this idea for days.

But what if, and stay with me here, dead=dead?

Sooooo, just come play Classic Era since that gives you that option.

Just use the addon then you don’t have to have options

TFW when OP suggests “Make WoW 2 with stronger death taxes” without just saying that.

Some classes are built with death in mind though as an artifact of core design; e.g. Spirit of Redemption. Not saying you’re wrong because Hardcore rules are plain and simple, just wondering if there is play space for both rule sets to collide (without the super softcore ruleset of death making you simply run back as a spooky ghost).

I’m checking my calendar for when they soften the hardcore rules (e.g., like Gem of Ease did within Diablo 3). Systems really feel best off when there’s a “firmcore” ruleset (because let’s face it, mules and bank alts to preserve continuity of SOMETHING is a norm on the hc realms).

My favorite headspace playing Hardcore is that it reminds me of classic arcade games. When you were out of quarters, you were out of lives, and progress wasn’t saved. If you wanted to beat traditional arcade games you needed the skill to preserve a fixed number of lives. (By January, they’ll just let you buy a rez with a -1 level penalty or something… calling it now. swipe.gif)

it’s honestly sad there are people like this.
if you don’t like hardcore, just don’t play :expressionless:
this has nothing to do with streamers either.
stop trying to change a game mode you aren’t interested in.

It is!
In Classic Era and soon on the next seasonal realms.
You have choices. But this hardcore is a different ruleset. Your resurrection is on another non-hardcore server. Solved!
Bless bless

Yeah bargaining :rofl::rofl:

Just use the add-on on a Classic era server. You can just resurrect and continue even after you die on those realms.

I have a better idea.
Implement your idea into classic era normal
And leave HC the way it is

I always thought this would be a fun semi-hardcore game mode (player-only resses with a limited time to be ressed, e.g. 24 hours, before death is permanent), separate from traditional hardcore. Keeps all the classes intact, creates an interesting social dynamic around player-driven ressing, and is more consistent with the lore of the game world. I dont think it’ll ever happen but its fun to think about.

Because 24 hours will be too long. Everyone will want 12 then 6 then 2 minutes then it’ll be about your gear being gone on rez, then just broken then it’ll be just classic era.

HC is HC is HC. Disconnects, falling, rapid spawns and all

No. You don’t regard half the fun of hardcore being starting over then it isn’t for you.
