My heart holds one desire: to play a Moon Priestess Sister of Elune. In some ways, this is already achievable. I can roll a Night Elf Priestess, I can dress her in the finest elven robes, I can even skin an interface that gives my priest’s abilities some nice moony, starry flavoring. What I need, though, is a bow.
Priests can’t currently equip bows. It would be super awesome if we could, but I feel like asking Blizzard to allow us access to an entirely new weapon might be a balancing issue or invite other serious coding shenanigans, so I am instead requesting that we merely be allowed to transmog our weapons into bows. If this means throwing all caution to the wind, flinging open the doors to the local ethereal shop, and tossing every single last weapon transmog category to the classes, then so be it. The more the merrier! Let us all eat cake!
But really, I just want my Moon Priestess Sister of Elune. We’ve got the Emerald Dream and Bel’ameth. It is time.
Sounds like an interesting Specialization more so, like a new hunter or priest spec. Why stop at bows?
Oh right… this is blizzard, the best they can give us is the third reskinned dwarf
Sometimes I wish Blizzard would just publish a tabletop RPG version of the game based on the lore and campaigns from World of Warcraft, but with options for character and class customization that wouldn’t have to be as limited as they must necessarily be for computer game development. I don’t know if there’s a licensing issue preventing them from doing this or just a lack of interest, but I think it would be enormously successful in today’s market and would give players hardcore into lore, customization, and RP a way to riff even further.
Honestly it’d be cool to get unique bonus customisations based on the race of the class.
So like:
Nightelves - Allowable Bow Transmogs(Perhaps have them ‘draw an arrow, aim & shoot’ when casting & finishing the cast of ‘Smite’ and other spells)
Tauren – Two handed mace & polearm Transmogs (Like a big af totem or ancestral-spear)
Blood Elves – Two handed swords – Reference to Battle-Mages / Blood Magi & the order of the Blood Knights extending their order to other classes to dedicate themselves.
Draenei – Two Handed Maces – I think we can all agree that casters with the hammer of the Naaru would look sick, and aesthetically pleasing for them.
Gnomes & Goblins – GUNS – They’re tech advanced races. Pretty self explanatory there. Perhaps add the thing with bows, where they draw, load, aim & shoot for their casting animations.
Pandaren – Staves (for non-casters) – Alongside having them be able to dual-wield mog them. It’d feel very martial-arts of them & fit with their vibe.
All of these won’t be allowed for equipped obviously, but merely allowed for transmog to be applied at their other weapons etc-- Yknow, customisations to fit the aesthetics & race-identity with their class.
On that note @ Warriors & Rogues:
Giving them a unique transmog bar for their ‘throw weapon’ animation — Being able to transmog it to be shooting an arrow from a selectable mogged bow or gun would be neat too, whether or not you have it equipped - but moreorless like a barbershop spell customisation option (Perhaps even selectable ‘throw knife’ dagger or sword to yeet with the throw animation).
But…you can? Just change the weapon category in the drop-down menu on your transmog screen. You can make any weapon look like any other weapon you can equip.
I wholeheartedly support all of this. I think it would be super doable too, it’s really just some extra adds on heritage armors, or maybe a little quest chain here and there for particular race/class combos. It would add so much cool flavor.
Personally I think both Blood Elves (and arguably Void Elves by extension) along with Nightelves (and Nightborne by extension) with all their dual-wielding melee classes, should be able to transmog warglaives too — I mean LORE-WISE those races have been using them LONG-before Demon Hunters were even a class in masses.
