Allow players to create horde and ally on the same server

you can do it in Hardcore.

Edit: yes i know you can do it on pve servers. Yes, i know hardcore is a pve server.

Hardcore servers aren’t PvP servers though.

this, i am a shaman fanboy but my guild rolled alliance, i want to play with them too on an alt. Silly restriction that is now outdated. outside of niche griefing scenarios that are largely irrelevant to 99% of players i don’t see a problem.

Maybe disable it on the streamer servers to avoid cringy whining from them, but otherwise free it up please.

what does pvp have to do with anything?

Blizzard’s faction balance attempts would not work if you could make both factions on the same account.

Can’t make both factions on PvP servers I guess? I play Alliance on Lava Lash and just made a Shaman to see if I could, I was able to just fine

it wouldnt work anyway, if people dont wanna be horde/ally they would go to a different server, or wait until a banwave happens those servers magically open up again.

thats even dumber. even the idea of “stalking” is mute since the majority of pvpers/players have 2 accounts. even so “griefing” by chasing people across the map into different zones is against TOS.

im happy you can do it on a pve server tho

It wouldn’t make sense with how they are trying to balance factions on the PvP realms… It feels pretty obvious why they don’t allow it

You can, and always have been able to, create both factions on PvE servers

it doesn’t make sense if you think about it. there are people that never wanna play horde, thus ally being the dominate faction on most servers, and given the option to play Horde and not Ally on 1 server they’ll just go to the next server that you can play ally on, same with horde.

trying to manage faction balance is just hurting the player base since you cant play with friends, or pally or shaman; when you can just connect the servers like they did in era to fix or to mitigate faction imbalance.
the only reason people switch servers or switch factions is mainly due to the inability to find groups to do content, like in tbc when it took me 4 days of spamming LFG/trade to fill a kara SR group, and was still short 2 players, and spent 4 hours looking for 2 dps.
THAT alone convinced me and my guild to switch to bene, and alot of other guilds followed us TO bene (the ally mega server)

Those players going to another server so that they can play alliance IS what is contributing the faction balancing. That’s what Blizzard wants players to do… If Alliance is locked on one server then go to another server where it’s not locked. If there were no restrictions then how can you expect PvP servers to stay balanced? They won’t… Everyone who played classic in 2019 knows exactly what will happen if there is no faction balancing.

It sounds like you just want a mega server… which is fine, but what’s the point of a one sided mega server (like Benediction Alliance) being a PvP server? There’s no one on the opposite faction to PvP with. Just go play on a PvE server and you don’t have to worry about it.

This has never been true.

The restriction only exists on PvP servers. It’s there so you can’t swap factions to trash talk people after they beat you as well as other things like doing intel on what the opposing faction is planning for big pvp battles and stuff.

Classic server doing classic things

putting someone on ignore is account wide, its nothing different from playing on console and getting hate messages because you killed someone, block em and move on.

What big pvp battles? you cant raid a city in classic with the amount of trolls in the game, all you have to do is kill a low lvl civilian and your entire raid looses a rank of pvp, thats why no one does it. a big pvp battle on what exactly? most massive pvp battles are done inside of a guild or coordinated with the server discord. as i’ve coordinated with alot of alliance or horde to start pvp battles. ONTOP of that, you cant have a massive pvp battle with more than 100 players without the servers crashing or lagging as seen in Asmongolds ashenvale event video.

by stopping players from playing with their friends/guild? what happens when all the servers are allie locked? spin up more servers with no new horde to join said servers? now you have a 1sided ally server with less than 500 people on it because its locked and theres no horde to join it.

you see, theres tech that combines servers or brings people from other servers to your shard. its been here since BFA. where youre connected to 2-4 servers and you get to see and play with everyone in your battle group when it comes to open world content.

Even in current era, your now connected to 4-8 servers. last time i checked whitemane and thunderfury were their own server but now they’re connected. if they wanted to they could have connected bene with fearilina, but why would they? they made sooo much money with server transfers that took you to a dead server right after dropping the cap on the amount of people that could log into a server.

nevertheless it boils down to this single point, not allowing pvp servers to make a horde/alliance character is useless. i can make a horde or alliance character on a pvp server in retail, we already have alot of Retail QoL features.

a cringy handwave with a “thats just the way things are” throwaway line holds zero weight, the game has been changed radically since classics launch, and SoD has had the biggest changes of all lately, Wrath allows you to do it, why not, the pros outweight the cons by a mile, just implement a ~5-10 minute lockout from logging onto the opposite faction after logging onto/playing on one, to prevent griefing.

You can do it on PVE servers here also. HC is PVE only. You just can’t on PVP servers.
