I’m a big lore junkie when it comes to the Mag’har orcs, and one of my favorite orcs happen to be Grom and later on Garrosh. both wielded the weapon Gorehowl which is in my top three favorite weapons in the warcraft universe. When WoD was still current and Gorehowl was leaked as a legendary weapon that could be obtainable by players i was excited because that is something that would of actually interested me about that xpac. Now its just collecting dust and all us players are left with is the old outdated model from TBC. So why not gives those melee classes a way to obtain it be it a questline, challenge run, etc.?
tldr; players are left with old, outdated version of gorehowl, make the new updated version available be it a questline or challenge mode or some other idea.
Then its not gorehowl its gorhorel. Updating a model on the weapon makes it no longer the same weapon lorewise. Garrosh had to mix his with a gods love juices for a reason.
I understand what you’re saying, but instead of us actually wielding it what if it was just like an appearance that you mogged on. Blizzard has already done some newer updates with weapons before, think of ashkandi from classic, and ashkandi from Cata. I’m sure there might be others i just cant remember them!
I’d honestly be okay if it was a mag’har orc only thing, we go back to AU draenor after grom sacrificed his life to hold off yrel’s AotL and we find his weapon as an appearance
Fun fact, the updated Gorehowl was supposed to be in WoD as a legendary weapon, likely dropped by Grom in the original HFC concept, where he was the final boss. However, when 6.2 was changed to put more of a focus on Gul’dan and setting up Legion, it was cut. Just like most of WoD’s content…
