Allow mail users like hunters and shamans to transmog leather armor, there are so many good leather sets that will fit shamans and hunters. Stop these type of restrictions, in old days class identity was the case, but now it’s not at all relevant, self identity is important, people want to identify and want a specific look for their character.
Look at ESO system, it has the best fashion system where people are free to transmog what they want and express themselves in anyway.
Kindly consider this and allow people to Transmog the way they want, remove the armor type restriction on transmog, these type of crappy old school adamant behavior from blizzard needs to go away.

I’d say free reign it outside of Class sets, we can already Invis most of it, and the various ‘shop sets’ kind of defeat the restriction anyway

But if my warrior gets a DK set item, it should be added to my collection. For my DK. My DK can’t get mythic antorus shoulders but my warrior and paladin get them like every other week. Tilting AF.

DUDE, I’ve been asking for YEARS, YEARS…!!! this system, the freedom of the transmog or a use for class except clothes class in using other low gear armor items such as leathers use as transmog leather armors with clothes, Mail with leathers or Clothes, and Plates with whatever armor they want.
It’s really disappointing not being able to do other styles of anime like Kiritos Plates class from SaO using transmog of any armor with any gear type, Warriors orcs represented berserk Grunts using leather armors like Warcraft RTS (and I didn’t even mention the new legacy armor for what orcs that is for another thread).
And any Leather rogue class fan of Moroes, Vaalera Sanguinar, or Vannesa Vancleef using Clothe armors transmog their leather gear.
All this in order to give more versatility to the transmog and do not forget that the new gears of this expansion, especially the tiers set, are disappointing and nothing wants to convey that feeling that we want to see from Vanilla.

nah you don’t get to pick and choose there are already off set pieces that look like tier in both and in old expansions

I feel like it’d make sense at least for a class of a given armor class to mog one armor class lower. Plated armor often had some kind of mail underneath. Mail would often have leather or cloth underneath. And leather armor would still have a decent amount of textiles. If class fantasy is an issue, I don’t think that allowing one class lower would break it too much.

If that were the case: what about the Spirit Darter’s Vestements, the Yeti onesie, Invisible Armor mog, and the new cash shop set: Fireplume Regalia. All of these completely ignore ‘class fantasy’ in order to support ‘character fantasy’ which, I think, is a good thing.
To note: we aren’t saying let other armors be equipable, just, transmogable. Imagine mages who illusioned their robes to look like plate armor just to fool enemies into thinking magic attacks were the way to go (mages resist magic better than warriors after all in most fantasy) or outlaw rogues using cloth transmog to be even more brigand like, hunters mogging some types of leather to better blend in to the environment, and warriors deciding ‘yanno what, today I DON’T want to retire to the inn so sweaty and grimy that a blind person might mistake me for a greased pig should they touch me before I can bathe’

I think it’s time to allow characters any kind of look they want.
WoW’s iconic characters have been breaking the rules for years. And heck, we’re already there for some - my priest is wearing plate because the Stormwind Guard armor was released in WoD as a collectable.
