Allow death appeals via customer support

Now that we know it is possible, Blizzard needs to stop being lazy and reverse SERVER RESPONSIBLE deaths. Make it an appeal function. Players receive a ban if they abuse it (i.e. if it is due to their own play or internet connection).

Make it happen.

Any music suggestions??

Its so strange customer support isn’t on this train to begin with.

For example, I’m supposed to report a bug in my rezz on the forums and hope a Blizz employee sees it? We don’t get answers to our questions here anyway.

Is this a joke little man? Has to be. You can clearly see that I’m hardcore and buff.

Can confirm my 47 mage is now resurrected and I never streamed in my life. It’s hard to believe but Blizzard did do something good, although dubiously motivated. They should’ve been doing things like this from the start, but fortunately they are doing it now and making a change to do so in the future.

Twirling my mustache as I read this

so you think hardcore should be softcore. got it.

So you think if you died from a randomized DDOS attack which had no control over your skill to stay alive, that’s okay? That’s hardcore?

Blizzard said they wouldn’t be responsible for any other deaths except from instances like this, if thats what you’re worried about. Seems fair enough to me.

blizzard do work? lol

Should just make it so that if you die at 60 you start over at 60 Then you don’t have to spend 3 months leveling again just regearing and gold farming

yeah you are describing softcore retail wow. gear resets so often you are essentially starting over again every season

that’s cool if people want to just play softcore retail though, but then lets not call it hardcore

Everyone agreed with “for any reason” until “for any reason” occurred.

It is really simple.

Mass events effecting a lot of characters

  • example: target DDOS of Blizzard endpoints
  • only internal Blizzard metrics and logs needed to analyze and act
  • no input from players needed or allowed
  • completely automated emergency server shutdown and/or restoration process
  • becomes part of standard gameplay protection

Individual game instance scenarios

  • example: client lag from your PC or ISP (not from a Blizzard attack)
  • internal Blizzard metrics and logs don’t cover this (only anecdotal aspects)
  • evidence unique to each player’s scenario would have to be submitted and analyzed
  • completely manual appeal and verification processing required (huge manpower)
  • will never be supported
