If there was a way to see other applicants when applying to groups it would save us time and not make us feel so bad when we get declined if we see that there’s a better option for the group lead.
Another good thing to add would be queue transparency for solo shuffle, by adding a way to see all the current dps and healers available in queue so we can gauge what would be best to play on at the moment according to the numbers shown. (basically if I see that there’s 300 dps in queue then I could just log on to a healer and play, or if I see that there’s lesser than average dps in queue then I could log on to a dps and play that).
This would help the playerbase tremendously by saving us a great deal of time.
I’m sure this would help dps players that do M+ in lfg a lot.
It just feels bad when you think you have the adequate requirements for the content and you’re getting declined and left in the dark wondering why you didn’t get accepted into the group.
If I were to see someone else with more experience and higher ilvl in the applicants list then I wouldn’t feel bad at all about not getting accepted.
For sure, I think almost 100% of the time it’s not personal. In fact, how could it be personal? All most people see is the name, class, role, and numbers. Maybe if their name is insulting or something, I guess.
You don’t have to show their names, you could just show the stats of the other applicants so people realize it’s not them, it’s just that way more geared/high score characters are applying for the same spots.
Also OP there is or was a great weak aura that shows the current classes in groups, I want this built into the game. That way, instead of seeing tank heal dps dps, you would see Tank Paladin, Heal Druid, and DPS Monk and Rogue. Then you would know not to waste your time applying because that group is looking for a lust.
yeah the pre-made group filters add-on also shows all the classes that are in the group, but you still can’t see who you’re competing with in the applicants list which is what I need for lfg.
I can’t help wondering what would happen if blizzard put this in and OP saw someone else who he considers ‘less qualified’ get accepted instead of him.
But that’s already usually what it is. Players are still going to feel bad if they’re declined, because numbers alone don’t prove anything if someone’s score is based on being carried.
“Oh, that Arms war got in over me, they have 2200 IO clearly that was the best choice, I’m perfectly okay with that, gonna log off and watch some TV now.”
I think it would be more useful for someone to be able to see why they were kicked from a LFD/LFR group.
Add a menu of common reasons so players can just click and kick, like disconnect, afk.
Also a text box for “other”.
That would give a player a suggestion of what they need to work on, if they keep getting kicked for the same reason. Or if someone types something really stupid, they know they were just kicked by a bunch of toxic jerks, and it wasn’t something they did.
I can’t post on my 421 characters for some reason, I keep trying to click on the portrait and it’s not working. Check pvp my alts.
People are quitting the game, because they can’t do 3s or RBGs and the DPS shuffle queues are too long. So they can’t vault cap, so they end up a week or two behind, they get discouraged and they quit.
I have played 14 years and I knew why every time I got kicked. I don’t think people get kicked and really not know why. Even when people get kicked for ‘no reason’, you can tell the group is a bunch of jerks by the chatter.
showing people the other applicants isn’t going to change anything there - PvP people even have more reasons not to accept a certain player than PvE.
I would expect that someone who has played 14 years should know why they got kicked. Perhaps you could consider the experience of people on the learning curve, who don’t have more than a decade of experience. Who have, in fact, little experience in the few weeks they have played and need at least a little help understanding that they’re doing something wrong.
Which will lead to a crapton of angry whispers in game and running to the forums to complain that someone thinks they should have been good enough to be chosen over someone else and it must be favoritism blah blah blah.
I knew from day one why I got kicked - I got kicked several times in the first few years and every time I knew.
Why would you interpret that statement as I know now why I got kicked - I don’t get kicked from dungeons now.
exactly - I don’t know why people can’t see that. They should know the playerbase now - luckily I am pretty sure blizzard also knows what would happen.
