So - without being overly negative, because I think by in large Allied Races have been a fun addition to the game - what other races do you think could have been good additions to the field? Here’s my two cooper:
I know that Dark Iron Dwarves are more aesthetically different from Bronzebeard Dwarves than Wildhammer really would have been, but could you imagine a real Wildhammer Dwarf Allied Race?

Gryphon Rider : 6 second cast, 10 minute cooldown; A Wildhammer Gryphon Rider picks you up and brings you to your faction’s nearest capital city. Brave Heart : Instant, 2 minute cooldown; Removes all poison, disease and bleed effects, and increases haste and movement speed by 10% for 8 sec. Hardiness : Passive; Stamina increased by 2%. Sky Captain : Passive; You gain 5% increased movement speed while on flying mounts and all Flight Paths are 10% faster. Medicinal Methods : Passive; Reduces Poison and Nature damage by 1%.
Just curious to see if other people had some opinions… again, I don’t want this to be “they shouldn’t have added X Allied Race because they are dumb” or “this Allied Race didn’t get enough customization options.” This is about a theoretical situation in which you could decide the next Allied Race to be added to the game, not one where you get to replace or remove one.
I’d not add a third variant of a race we have, actually. Not on the same faction at least, we already have three humans, two Dwarves, two Draenei.
I’d add Wildhammer as customization, though.
However, I also understand why many would want it. I mean, if Blizz comes and says Vrykul joins the Alliance, even if it’s a 4th Human, I’d actually be happy, lol. Wildhammers are also cool.
I’d add Mogu, considering they have male and female. Satyrs, Ogres, Saberon. All those except Ogres to the Alliance considering the adorables now go Horde.
Three Dwarf races sounds like a lot, but Elves would still have them beat! Interesting solution (maybe): Dark Iron should have gone Horde? Makes sense as they have more in common with Orcs (breaking the blood curse of an evil overlord) than they do with other Dwarves at this point. Then Wildhammer are just the second Alliance Dwarf option.
Ogres seem to be a real popular choice too! Definitely overdue!
But there are only two Elves on each faction. I mean, I love Wildhammers, but the Alliance has three versions of one race, it will lack diversity (it lacks it now, especially since the three versions of the race we have is also the one that gets the most spotlight by a huge margin) if another race that could be a customization is added as an allied race.
That said, I’d not be angry or anything if Wildhammers are added. It’s just an opinion.
. If I were given free rein, I’d add Leper Gnomes and San’layn!
