Night Fae / Faun – first potential Allied Race I’ve gotten genuinely excited about. They can be on whichever faction (though I feel like the Kaldorei need a friend right now, and the Horde already got a cool fur subrace).
I said why I disagreed. Not once did I say “you’re wrong”. The clostest thing I said to that was on Sethrak.
The only one I’m trying to silence is high elves and somewhat sethrak. If it came off that way in other areas then sorry.
I am absolutely biased towards Horde. Just as you are to Alliance. Which is understandable. But don’t immediatly chalk me disagreeing with you up to I hate all alliance horde master faction.
I’m going to respond to most posts here and show which ones I agree or disagree with and sometimes why.
Murlocs. Would probably be on the horde side, but worth switching if so.
Alliance:
1.) Silver Covenant High Elves
2.) Lightforged Humans (or even other races)
----> this one is likely best implemented as
a possible character customization rather
than as a full fledged separate race
3.) Jinyu and Ankoan
Horde:
1.) San’layn and / or Dark Rangers
2.) Ogres and/ or Mol’nathal
3.) Taunka and Yaungol
4.) Gilgoblins
Not Sure:
1.) Sethrak
You should server transfer to my server your name would fit.
Now this:
I think is weird but kinda cool tbh. And first time I’ve seen this as a suggestion, be it popular or not. But I like the idea because of Turalyon. I’d be down with that for races where it makes sense. Mag’har and green orcs for instance, not so much. But humans, dwarves, and maybe blood elves on horde, yeah it could make sense.
I’ve seen some people mention the uncorrupted arrakoa for alliance, so maybe sunforged/lightforged tauren could make sense since that’s how their pallies work, that way both factions could have a “sun” race. Corrupted arrakoa could also make a good counter, but I just don’t see arrakoa happening.
My top picks would be:
Finish out the BFA races by adding Calia-led lightforged undead humans to alliance and Saberon to horde.
Then in 9.2 or so: Venthyr for horde, Kyrian or Night Fae for Alliance.
I think you mean sethrak? I don’t remember seeing saberon in BfA, last time I remember was WoD.
Undead blood elf dark rangers
Nope, i mean Saberon! and they were in BFA, but it was easy to miss! ; )
Really? Where were they?
They ran into the Barrens along with the Botani when the Mag’har fled to Azeroth to escape from the Lightbound Orcs on alternate universe Draenor (from the Mag’har campaign). You have to pay close attention because it happens in the background with no discussion.
I did the mag’har unlock forever ago, I must’ve been distracted by the shoulderpad sizes to have not seen that. I’m going to have to find a video of that though. Botani on Azeroth and in the Barrens no less sounds scary.
I’m sure I could write an exhaustive list, but I’ll just do a few:
-Alliance regal-looking and lionish (with manes) saberon
-Horde Alteraci that use the thin human model (which is actually the Forsaken skeleton)
Those two would finish out the ARs for worgen and Forsaken. After that, I’d really like to see Man’ari eredar and Mok’nathal half-ogres/half-orcs.
Tbh this actually sounds really cool. Either that or a mane customization for worgen.
Didn’t know that was the forsaken skeleton but I see it now. Alterac sided with the Horde in the second war, and seeing as we now get skinny forest trolls, it could serve as a good throwback. But I could see the skinny humans going to Kul Tirans so they’re not all fat, I’m not sure why Blizz didn’t just make a female version of the model and give it to Kul Tirans to have 2 shapes, fat and skinny.
Imo, I personally dislike it, but it’s still a cool idea.
Edit as of June, 2 months later: We aren’t getting skinny forest trolls contrary to common belief. I made a megathread for forest trolls where I explained all of that.
I found it for you:
Thanks, I feel like I remember seeing the running in the backround but I most certainly didn’t notice who it was. That or I just feel like I remember and don’t actually. But that can be a great storyline. An expansion around the botani has potential tbh, but it would be hard to write as a full expansion and not just a patch.
Yea I figure they thought botani and saberon were too good to throw away and had to save them for later.
The lore of ancient Draenor is pretty cool imo. So seeing more things from the red world is great.
Would love to go back to Draenor with the new lightbound fanatics and get all (or most) of the cut content from WoD, in Draenor, plus maybe some more. I know a lot of people wouldn’t like that though from the memories of WoD.
I think an orc druid based on the primals vs breakers conflict would be pretty cool. Maybe they find a way to end that ancient conflict and calm the planet, getting forms that are mixtures of rock and plant.
All our druid forms would be spikes, just different colors and with different decorations. Treant form would be a spike and a wreath. Wolf form would be a spike with some fur, etc.
