Allied race: Rajani Mogu

Faction: Alliance

Appearance: They’re Mogu.

Racial abilities: Stoneborn heritage (Turn into a statue, making yourself immune to damage but unable to move or attack for 30 seconds) Blessing of Ra-den (taking elemental damage gives you a stack of Blessing of Ra-den. At 20 stacks you explode and deal damage to targets in melee.)

Classes: Warrior, Paladin, Death Knight, Shaman, Hunter, Rogue, Monk, Mage, Warlock, Priest.

Story

The Player receives a message from Brother Pike about a Mogu invasion of Stormsong valley and goes to investigate. At the Shrine of the Storm, they find Brother Pike fighting against the Rajani Mogu, who have come to purge what remains of N’zoth’s cult.

After the player explains the situation and assures General Xing that the Storm’s wake are not N’zoth cultists, they stop attacking and conscript the Storm’s wake into helping them purge the corrupted Tide Priests.

Over the course of the following battles, the Rajani and Storm’s Wake forces share their respective experiences with their leaders being corrupted by N’zoth with each other and come to an understanding.

When the battle finally ends, the General Xing says the Rajani will go back into isolation now that their work is finished. Brother Pike is saddened at the prospect of such valiant warriors cutting themselves off from a world that needs them, and instead suggests they stay in the world where they can uphold the values Ra-den stood for, rather than disappear just because Ra-den is not personally present to lead them.

General Xing agrees, and declares the Rajani will join with the Alliance, who she has come to believe represent those values from her time working with them.

I would Imagine Mogu would go Horde personally, mostly because of the fact they are old allies to the Zandalari.

But I’m mostly for making all races neutral and dismantling factions as a major story presence so meh.

The Zandalari openly resent and look down on the Mogu, and the only Mogu who wouldn’t hate everything the Horde stands for already sided with Zul. There’s no way they would be allowed to join the Horde.

The Rajani on the other hand represent a more noble mindset that’s more in line with the Alliance.

If that were a realistic option I would be all for it, but it isn’t so I’m not.

I think you have some good ideas here. I do however think it’s odd to have Mogu priests, paladins, and warlocks. The rest is great.

The Rajani would be an interesting opportunity for the Alliance, being the more or less good Mogu. I’d especially like to see them interacting with the other Titanforged races, outside of an Old God emergency. Could even do a Tushui/Huojin-like deal.

Rajani: Alliance
Any, or all, of the still evil clans: Horde

Any additional Horde race that isn’t Ogres is wrong.

I don’t want any race to have less class options than 10/12, since that’s where the races with the most options are at.

Priest and paladin are mostly because of the Rajani’s religious reverence for Ra-den. And warlock is because the other two options were Druid and Demon hunter, which really wouldn’t have worked.

Besides. Warlocks don’t care what their culture does or doesn’t condone. That’s why they became warlocks.

Mogu probably don’t have much interaction with Demons to have have Warlocks in the past, but considering their history with Blood Magic and Trapping Souls, it’s not a far jump to Warlockism.

I am all in on Alliance Mogu. I think that they are a good fit for the Alliance as they match well with the Alliance theme of civilization and order.

With a decent degree of Brutality.

Though Honestly, I don’t want to see (yet another) race that both factions aided and worked with together going to one faction over another. That needs to quit.

I’m down. All titanforged races should go to the Alliance.

They should never do anything like that again.

We were robbed of our Hozen because Blizzard couldn’t decide which faction should get Kung Fu Panda more.

Them or Black Drakonids.

I would prefer them going Horde though I feel that if Blizzard were to add a Mogu allied race it wouldn’t be the Rajani. They seem more focused on protecting the Vale.

The scenario I see happening is that a side approaches them, they refuse citing their charge, and the both sides defended the Vale. However they share that other clans might be agreeable, so we approach them and find a clan that is willing to put aside their prejudices.

Alternately we receive word of a clash of Mogu clans and we court a side.

Alliance Mogu would be good. Could even use that empowered staff that has done nothing from MoP.

I can agree with the general sentiment of the thread, that if they had to go to one Faction, Alliance would be the best fit. They are the “nice cuddly friendly” Mogu who are more about order and reverence to the titan’s perspective and they are titanforged offspring. They can be Jaina’s friends and share that their MoP relics. And they can be a foil to the Zandalari, which all but promises more Zandalari stuff!

(Unfortunately, the Zandalari would most likely be the villains in such interactions, but I have come to accept that. They even joke about it themselves when Dazaralor is under attack in BfA).

I would rather WoW transcends the two Faction system and racial locks, and find a way to open up character options for races and allegiances. But if the Rajani had to participate in the Faction War, and choose a side, I would be fine if they went to the Alliance.

I figured this is why you added that. Blizz would have to make those classes specific to Ra-den. If they could do that then I think it would work.

I would love Mogu, regardless of the faction they joined.

THOUGH, I personally would prefer Horde in this case. Talanji is leading the Zandalari people into a new age, and that could involve reinitiating past alliances and mending old issues that they may have.

Just me though, I would play them regardless. There are a lot of races on both sides I’d like added.

Done, but the Horde gets Ogres

Bargained well and done.

The only reason the Rajani even spoke to us was because we had the speaker with us. They serve Ra. That is the main difference between them and the other Mogu. They are just as condescending and willing to crush others under boot.

See, this attitude is exactly why I don’t want Alliance undead. I swear, if you lot had your way you would sideline our side of the playerbase completely while still expecting us to pay our sub fees so you can get the content you want.

Oh hell no. The last thing we need is a bunch of stupid monkeys who are entirely defined by incomprehensible gibberish, childish behavior and poo jokes. It was bad enough having to deal with them in Pandaria.

Only if it is proper Gorian style Ogres rather than the caveman style ones we had back in vanilla. We don’t need another races of just dumb thugs. Brute strength doesn’t account for much in WoW these days and the Horde is already woefully behind in the power scales to the Alliance and all the more at risk of getting sidelined when the story isn’t about the Horde’s mistakes.

Didn’t they mutually stab each other in the back and openly hate each other during MoP alone? Doesn’t seem like a healthy relationship.
