Allied Race Idea: Arakkoa šŸ¦

Indeedā€¦

If I may, Iā€™ve seen you liking my posts in the past, but havenā€™t actually seen you post until recently.

Can the racial be ā€œDark Essence Drain: Turns any blood, night, or highborn Elf into a withered permanently and increased all your stats by 50%ā€ ?

As funny and tempting as that soundsā€¦ I donā€™t think Blizz would go for it.

I think it would solve the blood elf over population problem and the hordies would be grateful.

Hence why I called the idea ā€œtemptingā€. ^-^ā€™

I know I would be.

Didnā€™t the lightforged draenei purge all races unwillingly to follow the light in alternate universe Draenor? I donā€™t think the bird people are to big on the ā€œlight.ā€

Depends on which particular ones you ask, but generally speaking?

Yes, they would have done so. However, we have seen other races converting to the Light that normally donā€™t dabble with it, so thereā€™s chances that not all the Arakkoa were wiped out.

Plus, while the Lightborne tried to purge all who would not convert, that does not mean they were completely successful as evident by the Magā€™har orcs and the escaping Saberon and Botani (although I DID see an Arakkoa escape as well).

Plus, there are ways to hide from the Lightborne. One of which is the hot topic in regards to leaks; the Shadow Lands.

Arakkoa can enter and leave them on a whim; especially to escape what would be certain death.

The next question is, why or how would we know they are alive in alternate draenor? I could see maybe the regular ones from outland, but thatā€™s it.

Simple.

While we may have closed the portal to Gorgrond in the physical realm, that doesnā€™t mean it was closed in the Shadow Realm.

As long as the physical structure remains, there remains a tenuous tie to that Draenor from Azeroth and vice versa. Even if we in the physical realm cannot traverse it, there is a chance that those in the Shadow Lands/Realms can and then cross over.

Itā€™s not one of those ā€œTwisting Netherā€ type scenarios where ONE realm transcends ALL realities. Rather, itā€™s essentially a mirror to that realityā€™s world. When it comes to connecting those worlds, thatā€™s where people have to be careful. If the portal is not fully dismantled, then anything that can cross into the Shadow Lands can use it still while the physical realm inhabitants cannot.

Soā€¦ Bird people can make themselves dead bird peopleā€¦

Which takes a portal to our worldā€¦

And change back from dead bird people to bird people againā€¦?

ā€¦ Okay, that makes TOO much sense ā€“ Blizz, where were THESE people when Teldrassil was attacked?!

Would actually be a great addition to the game, especially if Blizz put some work into it. Would be awesome if there is some race specific character development. Like, your Arakkoa starter area is in Skettis, Outland. You like all your other low level peers are flightless because of the curse, but as you progress your model changes from the Skeksis-like decrepit version of Arakkoa to the more upright version of WoD, and thatā€™s when you can fly. Your starter questline is simply to rid yourself of the curse, and take flight. Obviously you start at lvl60.

Gotta take the level squish into account, Iā€™m afraid. XD

As awesome as that soundsā€¦ Iā€™m afraid it wonā€™t be like that as the curse itself is almost impossible to remove without either a Naaruā€™s aid, devoting yourself fully to the void, or exchanging one curse for another (fel). I doubt even the Emerald Dream has the power to do this. The titans MIGHT be able to do so, but they sealed themselves away along with Sargeras so that pretty much kills off the Order and Chaos powers.

It would be, yeah, but most of them lost themselves to the curse and were later killed by the players (pretty much wiped out), so that windowā€™s not really a big option.

Still, your post IS food for thought as it sheds, so hereā€™s a like. XD

It would make for some good ā€œItā€™s Always Sunny in Philadelphiaā€ shut up bird jokes.

Ah, I forgot about that series being a thingā€¦

I never watched that.

Added a new class selection to the Arakkoa:

Monk: Though the idea of fighting with a mere stick or worse without any kind of weapon whatsoever was not something the Arakkoa took interest in, the local Pandaren populace introduced some of them to the martial arts of the Monks. Upon realizing that fighting as a monk was little more than an exercise of dexterity and agility, some of the Arakkoa decided to press further into the practice to find the art of meditation and zen ā€“ something those afflicted with the curse of Sethe were all too familiar with. In the end, the Arakkoan Monks quickly learned to temper themselves and hone their reflexes to become true martial artists. Or as Zekhan calls them, much to their ire, ā€œPunch Birdsā€.

Honestly, Iā€™m not 100% sure I should keep it on there or remove it; or if I could simply reword it to make it seem more sensible, but this was the best I could do at the moment on such short notice. This is why it is in Block Quotes unlike the other class selections.
