Allied Race Idea: Arakkoa šŸ¦

Yeah, considering itā€™d be payback for thinking they could tide us over with the Zandalari Boomkin formsā€¦ T^T

Arakkoa are my most wanted race behind Vulpera. I have wanted them ever since I first saw them in BC. I wouldnā€™t even care which kind of Arakkoa it is, id play one no matter what.

You have my like! :blue_heart:

Other than the Vulpera part, Iā€™m with you. Regardless, I feel like we might be getting Vulpera by the time 9.0 rolls around. Though hereā€™s to hoping that we also get the Arakkoa.

At the end of the WOD, both the High Arakkoas and the kursed show that they began their reconciliation after the defeat of High Sage Viryx!
We see several arakkoas side by side in Ashram!
Your society has begun a reform process!

Yeah, thatā€™s a major plot point with the Arakkoa; seeing the two sides come together once more.

Huhā€¦ So youā€™re still at itā€¦

Whatever, not my prerogative to stop youā€¦

Eh, I donā€™t see the Arrakoa as an Allied Race. So far the Allied Races have been close cousins of the main races (Humans - Kul Tiran Humans, Orcs - Magā€™har Orcs, etc.), assuming that the Mechagon Gnomes and Nazjata Gilbin will be new allies that just leaves us looking for cousins for the Forsaken, the Worgen, and the Panderans.

My thoughts: For the Forsaken Iā€™d go for ghostly Court of Farondis from the Broken Isles. For the Worgen Iā€™d select the Saberions (were-cats) from old Draenor, and weā€™d probably have to dream up a brand new subrace for the Panderans,

Honestly, thereā€™s in-game speculation about the Pandarens being relatives of the Furbolgs, so thatā€™s a possible answer.

As for the Saberon being Worgen ARs, Iā€™m not so sure how that would go for most people; especially due to someā€¦ Demeritsā€¦

1: Theyā€™re still effectively primal, meaning theyā€™re not the smartest things alive.

2: Saberon only really share the rigs of the Worgen yet have no in-game relation to them.

Also, Kul Tirans are essentially the original humans, which means that the Gilneans and current humans weā€™re familiar with came from them, so lore-wise the Worgen we play as are a sub-race of Kul Tirans.

Wild Worgen are effectively primal as well, if you remember Genn and the Alliance Worgen got their brains back thanks to the Night Elves. As for the Saberon relation to Worgen, cousins. The origins of the Dreanor Saberons were never actually revealed but in my imagination theyā€™re a Dreanor race that got hit by a similar mystic virus, only turned into were-cats instead of were-wolves. In my story, a certain Worgen Druid stayed behind in Dreanor to study them and came up with a sort-of cure. Whatever form they originally had is long gone, theyā€™ve been cats too long to be able to change back, but their minds have been cleared. Of course thatā€™s just my thoughts.

Right, but feral and primal are two different things.

Feral means thereā€™s no sense of sapience ā€“ they donā€™t even recognize themselves.

Primal is another way of saying young or early development. Saberon are essentially infant minds in barbarian humanoid-lion bodies.

Draenor is cut off for good now. We used the last of the magic in the shard of the hourglass to get the Maghar.

But you can still get them from Outland which honestly is a way better idea.

Maybe, but youā€™re forgetting the Magā€™har werenā€™t the only things to escape from Draenor. While my suggested origin/unlock idea is out of date, thereā€™s not really much I can do to really change it up to fit the new scenario without making a brand new thread.

I can really tell youā€™ve given it a great deal of thought.

Thanks, and I have tbhā€¦ But Iā€™m far from the only one whose done something like this for the Arakkoa.

Or ANY race for that matter.

I just wish Blizz would see that their fanbase has potential that can be reached.

This inspires me to come up with a cool post about how and why the mogu and eradar should join the Horde!

I think the Mogu would be a safer bet, but weā€™ll wait until you ACTUALLY make the post before we talk more on it.
