Allied Race Idea: Arakkoa 🐩

To be perfectly honest, I was referring more to a gameplay stance. When comparing the racials of the ARs to their core counterparts, you start to see that there’s a reason why people are rolling them besides cosmetics/aesthetics.

The only ones that don’t match this trend are the Kul Tirans and soon to be Vulpera.

Ah, I see. Well they didn’t mean for that and if that’s the case I hope they get nerfed. Or the rest of us buffed. And I will not give up hope that the Vulpera will stay far away from the character creation screen until I see it in Taliesin’s thumbnail.

lol Oops? shrug

But yeah, the reason why I mention Kul Tirans not matching this trend is because, as I stated, they are proto-Gilneans (meaning they’re essentially the human version of Protodrakes to most Gilneans in that they existed first before splitting off) which points to the Worgen being a sub-race of Kul Tirans. Vulpera will be a completely NEW race being added as an AR instead of a sub-race. The only thing they share with ANY of the core races is the Goblin’s model skeleton.

Now that I think about it, by that same logic, they’re also proto-humans

Dude. Just because the Kul’tirans are descended from Gilneas doesn’t make them a Worgen subrace. They are Human. The Worgen being Worgen is what their race is. They’re a specific groups of Humans, making them a subrace or an “allied race”. So their core race is Human. And also, it’s not a for sure that we’ll get Vulpera, and I personally really hope we don’t. But if we were, they would follow the pattern and not make them an allied race, because they are not a sub race of anything.

sweet mother of all creation, that’s one heck of a wall of text

You got the wrong idea. The Gilneans are descendants of Kul Tirans. Ergo, Kul Tirans are proto-Gilneans.

Not much can be done to pretty it up.

“Arakkoan should be an allied race. There’s lore supporting them being aligned with either the alliance or the horde, similar to pandaren albeit for their own reasons.”

summarized, lol.

I said pretty it up, not summarize it
 T^T

Either way, sorry you feel it was too long

Seems sh*t if you ask me; look at the last MMO that had playable bird people. Btw, that was over 10 years ago but it still shows why this won’t work at all.

Ummmm
 What?

You wanna play bird people, go play DnD. Leave them out of WoW. I want the game to go out with a whimper, not in a screeching death trap.

If arakkoas could be an option, arakkoas would come as a new people added and recruited as an allied race!

Agreed. By the way, we never got around to meeting in-game.

Blizzard herself said that allied races could be added differently for some races!

I hope devs will remember this in the future!

It would be cool to see the two forms of these people go to separate factions.

At this point, I don’t really care WHO gets them anymore as long as they finally become playable.

Im sure we will see more ARs eventually. This system really allows Blizzard to implement races quicker and in more numbers. Arakkoa have always been a favorite of mine so I too hope to see them one day.

As a Druid of the talon, I fully subscribe to this allied race :eagle::purple_heart::dizzy:

They have such neat models and it would be so awesome to have something beyond different size/colored/with or without pointy ear humans.
