Allied Race Idea: Arakkoa 🐦

No, we need more people like you two around. Not less.

Not sure how I got the nod here but I’ll take it!

Mostly because you were asking questions about Arakkoa – in your case, it was about their customization options and how they could be altered.

When considering new races, I think the major gain for the community really is body type. It’s maybe the most undervalued metric in determining which race goes live. While things like the Fish race and the Fox race would be fun, they aren’t a wild new addition to the game.

The Arakkoa would provide this. I don’t know who wants that posture/body type, but that’s not really the point. The point is diversity and I think this race provides it. I remarked back in Vanilla “who’d want to play a Troll, they’re all hunched over!” and a friend of mine said “Well if you want to play a wisened old healer, then troll makes a good choice.” That was probably 2005 and I’ve never forgotten that conversation because he was right, and it’s an avenue to better player experience.

I don’t think Blizzard understands this at all.

Not the new Blizzard, at least.

But I understand where you’re coming from. The Low Arakkoa have a lot to give in terms of diversity and creativity but at the same time the overall lore of the Arakkoa as a whole makes sense for them to try and join in with the races of the Alliance or Horde as well given our personal history with them in both BC and WoD.

The High Arakkoa, while not giving the same kind of diversity in its posture, has a more wide-eyed and curious stance to them like a child in a brand new world they’ve never seen before. Just as well, no other race embodies this aspect either.

they’re definitely very cool and interesting.

i have very vivid memories of them from tbc still…their culture and visuals are very interesting.

honestly would probably be a cool race idea, especially for casters and rogues.

better than the midget fox things they want to give us lol

Of that, I have no doubt.

I read that before, and it’s a very good read. Definitely preferable to people who have no idea who or what the Arakkoa are in terms of lore.

Can we stop with the animal based races already this game looks like world of zoocraft

Would you rather we add another elf or human to the list?

Can we stop adding races altogether? It’s just adding on to the list of OC BS issues I have with the game as it is.

C’mon, Blizz, get to work on Warcraft 4!

How about something a bit more creative. Wouldnt mind those azurite npc the mummy types…but imo animalizing a human form…lazy…

If you’re talking about the Ethereals, then the line’s over in the other direction…

Besides, they’re not on as big of a fanbase as the High Elves or Vulpera.

Heck, I think they’re even smaller than the Arakkoa fanbase last I heard of them (which, granted, was a really long time ago).

I don’t want anymore races, period!

I don’t even want another expansion!

I want Blizz to WAKE UP and SMELL THE DAMNED ROSES! Classic has shown them how powerful going back to their roots is, so why not go all the way and make Warcraft 4?!

No more OC BS!

No more races, agreed!

After they release Arakkoa and Ethereals

:sunglasses:

I’m such a TBC fanelf, aren’t I? Lol…

I love the ethereals. I love their running animation and the mystery around them and they’re all glowy and-and…

I want space mummies.

But Arakkoa are the top priority on my list.
