So I’m noticing that the Allied race Death Knights (or at the very least pandaren DKs) Don’t have the typical distorted voices that is common of the class. You think they would have plans to fix this soon? Or is this just a me problem?
I still think the allied race death knights are alive - just infused with power.
If they were alive they wouldn’t be Death knights. And The Lich King clearly states in the cinematic that the player character “gave the ultimate sacrifice”.
Pandaren definitely don’t have the DK voice. Now the only other races I tested were Void Elf and Nightborne, which of course are the only two with already-altered voices so it was almost impossible to tell at first, but the 2nd generation DK mod is easily identified by the rebounding echo of the voice between the speakers/headphones. Void Elf and Nightborne definitely have the voice. Pandaren do not.
Hopefully it is merely a bug; I want my Panda DK to have the spooky voice, too.
Actually, Arthas was still alive when he was eventually transformed into a Death Knight by Frostmourne. But I agree that needs to be fixed too.
they slowly took that away cuz it requires extra work to maintain so they took it axed it
DK allied races are an afterthought. They won’t matter at all for Shadowlands story. They didn’t have any new races or classes so they pulled this out their butt.
I disagree “Ultimate Sacrafice” means they had died - I mean simply being infused with the powers of the Lich King probably forever alters you in pretty horrid ways. Add to the fact there are multiple “breeds” of death knights and it does not seem so far fetched; not that it matters in a tremendous manner - but it should be noted that the Allied race DKs are not technically Veterans of the 3rd war.
The term “ultimate sacrifice” is specifically a reference to dying in all contexts and creeds. And I doubt Blizzard script writers decided to make some overly-confusing exception to a term that might actually date back to our tree-swinging days.
Which, to my knowledge, includes death during the process. I’m not privy to any knowledge that a living thing was altered by the Lich King’s magic and remained a functioning mortal.
Yes and no; Pandaren Death Knight have the ‘Veteran of the Fourth War’ passive. Mechanically, they both provide the same benefit.
Aye I noted the passive - technically it should be called something else as they are made by Bolvar.
Well the fourth war was the Alliance vs Horde conflict of BFA, so anybody that fought in that war, died during, and got ressed as a DK, would be a veteran of that war.
oops re-read the mention - fourth War is accurate (My DK has third War as his passive)
Zandalari definitely do have the voice, but Pandaren don’t.
It’s a shame that there’s no option to turn on/off the effect for those who don’t like it
There used to be. Not sure what happened to it.
Sorry for the necro, but it seems there is a workaround, just not in-game. Thread below has more info on how to activate and deactivate DK voices.
1000% DK’s should have the hollow, reverb voice of NPC DKs.
