Allied Race and Armor

finally got around to unlocking one void elves because I thought race changing my priest to it would be cool. but now I realize I have to level one from 20-110 to even get their special gear. why is it made this way? imo I feel like just grinding out the requirements to unlock the race should allow you to get their special gear. maybe that’s just me. I don’t feel like I should have to then level a character to legion max level after that. ya I get they don’t want u to skip over their story lines but at the same time after leveling so many toons in my life I don’t feel like I need to do another one just for an armor set that I feel should come with just a simple quest chain not a full on 80 level experience.

I agree. The requirements to unlock the ARs in the first place are grindy enough.

To make it more prestigious.

There is a warning before you boost that it won’t unlock your heritage armor… poor reading skills.

I didn’t boost any characters. im just saying I was gonna race change this priest to void elf but wont get the armor which is basically the coolest part of the race anyways. and I don’t really feel like leveling a whole new character just for a transmog option that should come with the character.

Oh, ya thats also a thing which is listed in a blue post and on the site somewhere for heritage armor. Pretty much for any Allied race heritage armor you will need to level a fresh 20 all the way up which exp needed from the 60-80 level bracket has been reduced by 40% and is much easier now.

As for non-allied race heritage armor, which is blood elf and dwarf right now, you only will need exalted with your faction’s city, be 120, and do a short scenario/questline.

This is a fine example of an entitlement mindset. It’s this way so that there’s some exclusivity, and sense of achievement, because it everyone has something, then it’s not anything special. If you don’t like to do it, then don’t do it.

this is a fine example of I pay $15 a month for a video game. I am entitled to my opinions because I pay to have them. also me putting in the grind to get the allied race unlocked is me putting in the work. I don’t find it worth the 80 level grind for a transmog is what im saying. I feel like it should be a small to medium size questline at best. the exclusivity is already implemented by having to unlock the race in the first place. so if you don’t understand the post then don’t comment with your “entitlement mindset” as if I didn’t already put in effort to unlock it.

I don’t mind being given a goal to work towards. Gives me a sense of progress.

As a person who hasn’t yet experienced all the levelling quests, I am also fine with being asked to level an AR to receive a reward at the end. I have plenty of new zones to experience.

But when it involves rep grinds that are actually time gated, that’s when I think it’s gone a little too far. You are essentially being asked to repeat the same activity again and again (I must have repeated the same WQs 3-4 times each day). That’s not terribly fun to me.

its just for me the fact that I don’t need another character. so making me level one just to unlock armor is weird. like after I hit 110 what do I do with that character that im never going to play?

Ya for loremaster I purposely level an AR through a zone and complete the story (THANK YOU LEVEL SCALING!) I only have a handful of zone left to do for loremaster.

Well what I do is I make an AR a class I don’t have or a class I enjoy but on the opposite faction, or a class I already have but I prefer that race looks to the one I already have. Worse comes to worse I park it at 110 and never touch it again.

well I wanted my priest to be the allied race. so if that’s the story I feel like I should stop leveling my priest and just level the AR one from the beginning again. just a lot of work. I don’t like leveling characters anymore. ive done it so many times. im just frustrated is all. I feel like their could have been another way to unlock the armor that was more casual friendly

Well in 8.1 level is alot easier. Overall leveling from 20 to 110 was reduced by an average of 20% required exp. In the 60 to 80 bracket most levels require 40% less exp to level up. You also have warmode which gives a 20% boost to exp this week for alliance on NA servers, a new exp potion from the service medal vendor right near the warfront tables which give 10% more exp. You also have heirlooms and on March 12 you will be able to upgrade them to 120.

Leveling right now is the easiest it has been, I simply do what I said above and que for a dungeon as a DPS while questing through zones. Until WoD i just fly and do bonus quests once I hit level 92 (do the base story until 92) and have warmode on and then go from 92 to 98 in under 1 hour grab my artifact weapon from legion go back to WoD zones level from 98 to 101 (bonuses still give full exp there until your 101) then do legion invasions when up and Azuna+Val which are the quickest zones IMO and do the dungeon quests of the zones.

Then GG your 110 or pretty darn close to it!

guess ill finally level a rogue. always thought about it but never did it

DO IT! Get the legendary campaign achievement while your at it (complete all 12 class order halls in legion)

Well, I don’t, as well as many others, but it’s what Blizzard thinks since it’s their game. You are a special snowflake, and most likely have a progressive mindset too. This is based upon the words that you’ve written.

you cant read or comprehend someones opinion. get over yourself

time played metric booster.

Core races get this even if you boosted them.

Only 1 race would make out here if allied like cores. Nightborne. As they get exalted by default. Since not really truly needed with BFA (any exalted emissary items would be completionist items with BFA out now) not big edge there. If an issue…take the exalted away and problem solved.

Do not hurry to get the heritage set. It’s hardly worthy of it.

Make a new void elf (preferably one from a class you don’t usually play) and level it up slowly. You’ll eventually reach 110. Do not burn yourself by forcing to achieve it fast.
