Alliance Warlock

Is Alliance Warlock going to be ez mode to get geared? I’ll be playing on a PVP server but don’t expect to see much world PVP due to playing/leveling at weird (Hawaii) times. I can raid at any time though.

I have been debating on whether to roll a horde druid or shaman, however decided healing was not for me. Want to DPS but still be a special snowflake.

Depends on a few things.

  1. The number of warlocks in your raid. Your raid is going to want a few at least for the Garr fight.

  2. How lucky is your guild with warlock drops. You could run for weeks and never see a warlock piece drop. It’s likely that one piece at least will drop for your guild, however, go back to number 1. How many warlocks are you competing with. I’d say raid gearing warlocks is the same as it is for horde.

Usually you won’t be competing with very many other warlocks, but the one thing to keep in mind is that most of your BiS items are also BiS for mages and other caster dps.

Although the plus side is that a warlock, alliance atleast, will have a very easy time finding a guild as guilds will frequently be looking for them atleast in early/mid vanilla.

Depends what gear you’re going for. Felheart set (tier 1) is low on +spell damage. But it’s great for soul link warlock in pvp due to bonuses and high stamina. It’s weak set if all you care about is pve and doing further raiding. There are a lot of variables like this.

Purely depends on how many clothies you run with. Like previously mentioned tier 1 is basically a waste of time so it comes down to how many others you’re sharing a gear pool with.

DON’T DO IT

I’ll have to farm you for honor, and feel bad cause you seem like a nice person just doing your wartlock stuff.

If you play long enough you’ll be able to melt me before I am in range, and then it will be serious. Mrrrrrrrr!

Kidding. Wartlock should be fun in Vanilla

I think Warlock will see a lot more play in Classic than it did in Vanilla. The class is no longer being slept on. It only took 15 years but people finally figured out what they’re capable of.

You’ll certainly see less alliance warlocks on a pvp server. Undead classes, especially rogue, are a real mood killer. On the flip side there will be orc and undead warlocks everywhere.

Group pvp and your alliance worries are over. WotF is only a significant advantage in 1v1or1+.

There are so many reasons to play warlock when it comes to pvp. I personally think that warlocks have the most viable specs when it comes to pvp (rogues and hunters are also flexible). All warlocks need is some Int, Stam, +Shadow (or Fire) Damage, and a bag of soul shards.

P.S. It helps to sometimes bring others along if you want to perform the ritual of doom. That is a special moment that deserves to be shared with that special group.

Every class has strengths and weakness for all aspects of the game.

Pve all dps specs will be fine. Your guild will bring a few or even 1 spriest to buff shadow damage of all the locks.

Pvp no class is overpowerd what makes classes amazing in pvp is strictly engineering.
