Alliance Till Death!

This patch has made it even worse. Many Alliance are turning wm off, many Horde are complaining they do not see enough Alliance to kill with wm on. This faction imbalance has gotten progressively worse since WOD. I will keep playing it, but it is getting progressively worse!

Has the Alliance lost the 15% bonus they have had for the past few months?

Whenever the bonus drops, Alliance turn off WM. Better to have no incentive, than an unbalanced one.

Last night the quest with Shaw was still up. And the imbalance isnt always server numbers, more like nobody wants to turn it on.

My Alliance alt has 20% bonus xp from killing mobs and completing quests. Now I’m not sure what’s going on, sorry.

Oh, and my Horde gets 10%.

Better no incentive than an unbalanced one.

This imbalance started quite a few years ago and like a snowball going down hill has gotten progressively worse. Even if Ally has a buff atm how will that get people irl to xfer to Alliance when they have to pay money and unless a large number does they will be in the same place things are now. So why would they bother? If I liked Horde and my main was there I wouldn’t do it. This is not just about this patch. This is about a faction imbalance that has gotten worse over quite a few years now and this patch is just adding to snowball. Have lots of ingame friends acquaintances after 14 years and know where, when, and why they moved over to Horde these past years and a buff on Ally < faction imbalance.

Are the Factions terribly imbalanced? Is it the racials still?

It’s going to take a whole lot to get players to start switching back Alliance, most players would be foolish to consider playing Alliance anymore if they care about real end game content. I mained Alliance for many years up until this expansion, both raiding guilds I was in and both raid teams dissolved. A handful of friends and I went Horde and wouldn’t consider going back Alliance this expansion. Horde has an open sea of end game compared to Alliance.

We still have that and AOO up. People are turning it off despite that because they’re tired of Mezzamere getting camped by full raids and rares getting steamrolled or ganked+killstolen by 5-6 people at a time.

At this point the imbalance is so bad they basically need to just make Warmode a queue. The faction base isn’t skewed that much, but the people actually in Warmode are ridiculously slanted and there needs to be some sort of safeguard. But Horde wouldn’t like losing their enlisted bonus for winning a war nobody’s fighting, so…

What happened to that White Knight’s Raid group that did this to the Horde for the first few months of BfA? Are they not around anymore?

No, it’s not the racials.

to grossly oversimply: Very early on in the games life, the horde had better racials for raiding, and a slight imbalance happened in the games population.

However, over years, albeit very slowly most hardcore raiders focused entirely on the horde, and eventually you get to the point now where the Horde is functionally the only real faction choice.

Blizzard should start labeling the factions as “Hardcore” and “Casual” if they want to keep it this way, since the population imbalance dictates such things.

It would be easier to simply allow all PVE content to be cross faction, and guilds.

Anduins? You still see them every once in a while. A lot of them quit, but no more disproportionately than everyone else throughout BFA. They can’t cover every 20-1 shard though.

Wonder if it is possible at all to fix it? Blizzard? Activision? Curious question? Maybe they will end up getting rid of factions lol? Okay omw out to Mecha with wm on!

With game breaking incentives, yeah. That’s about it.

You are exactly right. This has been slowly happening for years after a Horde racial advantage years ago. Snowballed till what is going on now…

I think removing Factions would fix so many things.

But all our early questing is Faction based, and entwined into the ideaology of reinforcing Faction identity and hatred for the other.

Personally, I just feel the real world can be such an ugly place today, so when I log into the game I love, seeing warfare and hatred encouraged and perpetuated makes my heart ache.

I still believe in World of Warcraft, but I’d like to see the Factions come together finally, and our ‘warcraft’ to be re-written; warcraft against the (expansion baddie) enemy, and a new, improved PvP style.

I think BfA has just exhausted everyone.

Just wait until Vulpera become playable.

Like it or not Horde won.

Its true, the early world is very steeped in conflict, but it comes from all sides, not just alliance vs horde.

And for the record, cross faction PvE doesn’t have to sacrifice this at all. There could still be faction specific quests and storylines, and faction specific areas with guards that attack certain races.

But bare minimum, for the health of the game. I think guilds, Dungeon content, and Raid content should be cross faction. Hell, we constantly team up to kill the real bad guy anyways. why not let us… you know. team up?

OH. and there can still absolutely be strife, wars, and racism between the factions. It’s tying the players to it that sucks

At this point if you told me the class halls and whoever else got sick of pointless wars and teamed up to make a third faction…well it wouldn’t fit RIGHT now because Sylvanas is Obviously Concentrated Evil, but between Legion and BFA I’d have jumped on it.

Welp been out on Mecha, hardly any Alliance with WM on. Seldom attacked by one Horde usually 5+ versus me. Of course we know who wins that one :stuck_out_tongue: Once again giving up and turning it off for now. Sorry Alliance…

When Horde camps a raid on a turtle, I can land nearby, scope the area first, and go do something else if necessary. If Horde camps a raid in Mezzamere or Rustbolt, I’m basically shut down. We’re regularly getting raids sitting in a town that’s both the only quest hub in Nazjatar and the only way in or out of the zone.

I kept warmode on through 8.0 (other than turning it off when going to a summoning stone). This is bad enough that I’ve had to turn it off a few times just to get basic tasks done.

This isn’t unique to 8.2, but it concentrates the entire active playerbase in two smaller places instead of six larger ones, and offers absolutely nothing else worth doing. So existing imbalances are three times denser and there’s nowhere else to go.
