This isn’t pure vanilla, why are we still having to deal with this arbitrary limitation? I understand there’s probably a good deal of people that care about Faction Fantasy, but for everyone else it’s just arbitrary.
With Season Of Discovery it would be amazing if Alliance got Shaman and Horde got Paladins.

A big part of classic that people like that is removed from later parts of wow ARE the faction differences. There are several alternatives for you to play if that is what you want. But classic SOD is not it.
It is vanilla based. Not TBC based. Not Wrath based.
You might not like faction identity being strengthened by each having its own unique class, and that’s fine. Champion your opinions and your preferences!
It’s OK for others to have different preferences and for us all to still get along. Good luck with voicing your opinions and having them be heard!

They already said on Twitter doing this would require a massive amount of manpower so it’s not happening.
Shaman horde
Paladin alliance is here to stay

I tried Alliance for the first time in 2019, because I’ve mained Paladin in a couple of Retail expansions, and wanted to try it in a closer to origin state. I don’t think I would have even rolled Alliance ever if not for them being faction specific, but thanks to that, I got to experience a whole other side of the amazing world of Azeroth, unique Alliance questlines and items, and just an entirely different perspective on the game.
I think having faction identity like this is pretty darned awesome, personally.

The only problem to me is having faction restriction on Pvp server, i want to play one server alliance and Horde

Honestly, I don’t have any strong opinion towards dual faction character creation on PVP servers. They ended up removing that restriction for Classic Era (I think when they gave free transfers for SoM characters).
I’ve always just played Alliance and Horde on different servers though, even when I keep two accounts active.
Hey ho, you know where to go! You’ve got multiple versions of the game to play with that change!

Yeah it just sucks cause there’s only one rp pvp server and I’m forced to basically not play one faction

Not that it would require manpower, but that it shares the same client as Era and Hardcore, so it would be a change that also affects those players as well, which are and should be no changes clients.
I do think for balance reasons it should have been something we did get here on SoD, but I can understand not wanting to separate something seasonal that could potentially be shut down before it finishes depending on how things go, onto it’s own separate client.
I don’t see it happened. It’s too much work. Alliance paladin has all the quests and some paladin only gear. They would have to remake all of that for the horde side as well or then we’ll complain that Alliance paladins are better than Horde Paladins
Please, no this would ruin it for me, let factions have some unique flavor. There should be distinction between them.
Instead, I’d like to see a Goblin Tinker and/or a Troll Headhunter with javelins on the horde side. For the alliance, I’d like to see a High Elf Spellbreaker and/or a Dwarf Mortar Team.
