Alliance seems to have "Enlistment Bonus" constantly. Doesn't this indicate a serious issue?

Has Blizzard commented at all on resolving the issue that Horde has, from all indications, a pretty significant advantage when it comes to a population of dedicated PVP players across all servers? 7 times out of 10 the Horde team has stronger players (i.e., they appear more experienced, less PVE-players-doing-PVP-without-understanding-the-maps, etc.) And, Horde team compositions seem pretty outstanding overall, even at the lower rating levels (i.e., I’m regularly seeing teams with 4+ paladins …I think you all know how hard that is to beat.) It’s tough in rated …but it’s in randoms that I’m seeing the biggest difference.

I swear I’m not whining…and I know for SURE that I’m no PVP expert (at least not in this game …yet), so I’m not trashing or flaming anyone. Also, I know that there are certainly Alliance teams that are bad a*s and have no problems at all …I’m talking primarily about the “regular” or “average” Alliance player experience here (not the ones that can play 5-6 hours a day and have a regular group they run with, etc.) I just see a problem and I’m curious if the developers have indicated that they’re seeing it as well.

Perhaps it’s time to consider sunsetting this whole “Alliance v Horde” thing and transition to just A vs. B? It could be something tested with random regular and epic BGs and then evaluate to know if it’s something that should be considered in rated as well. Doing this would also allow the system’s algorithm to take other things into account such as team class composition (we all know that some classes/specs are OP in pvp and they could be spread out when they’re not in a pre-made), iLevel, etc.

Anyway, I know some folks won’t read any of this and just say ‘get good’ and all that. And, of course there are those who are outstanding players with all the gear and a regular team of friends, etc. who don’t see any of this.

Yes there is a huge player imbalance between horde and alliance, hence the long queue times for horde and the extra incentive for alliance to sign up and lose. Tho Blizzard refuse to publicly acknowledge it, it is well known and accepted.

After bfa, there now lies an opportunity to remove the alliance/horde divide in all instanced content, especially pvp. It would solve all the current issues on queue times, racial imbalances, alliance constant losing, faction raid imbalances ect.

Just keep the open world separated for lore reasons. Altho an argument could be made to remove that as well.

I didn’t read any of that, git gud.

I seriously have more trouble winning in Horde than in Alliance idk why you complain so much.

You could be right – the problem is that we don’t have data. Perhaps you could keep a record each night of how many random BGs you join, for both regular and epic, (without being in a pre-made group) and the number of wins and losses. I can do the same. I’d start a gDoc spreadsheet for us to keep track of it and share with everyone …but, I know there would be trolls.

Tonight, I tried 5 random, regular BGs and lost them all. They weren’t blowouts – our team got close a few times and I honestly think we did our best …the other side just were stronger. (Two of the losses were against teams with 4 paladins…no lie! I don’t think I’ve ever been on an alliance 10-man team with 4 paladins …lol.)

I played 15 epics today winning two and one of those was Wintergrasp Defence (an easy win imao) . Horde queue up so much because the Conquest Points are there on a plate for easy gear upgrades at least today if they were lucky enough to draw me!

They know it’s an issue. They don’t know how to fix it.

Neither Alliance or Horde are losing all the time . Don’t be silly .

Just got 5 capped against an alliance team in DWG with 5 druids in it !!

Convoke for the win baby !!!

To be honest I now wish BLZ to remove all job/race combination thing.

It’s just an underdog/loser’s participation incentive, the bonus is fine.

As for the worsening population imbalance, at this point it’s probably going to take some extraordinary measures to correct it.

We’re talking giving Alliance a racial that is SO overpowered that it causes multiple world 1st guilds to reroll, this would cause a trickle-down effect where mid-tier guilds also reroll (copy-cat effect), followed by the more casual Heroic guilds rerolling, and so on.

We also have to consider that the devs mostly play Horde, so it’s unlikely they are going to rock the boat too much. The time to “take action” on the population imbalance issue was years ago at this point, the damage has already been done.

I think PvP would be improved at this point by faction agnostic queues that focus on balancing ilvl and roles and ignore faction. The faction split already creates a long queue so you can’t really add more factors on top of it. If you removed faction as an issue entirely you could make more important factors come into play instead.

They could use brawls as a way of testing it and getting larger scale feedback like a live beta test.

There’s alot of horde merc’ing and playing as alliance, OP. So how do we square the ‘horde is better etc’ when the horde make up a good portion of the ‘alliance’ team as well?

just delete factions they don’t make sense lorewise anymore anyways and it alienates half the player base

Look at the ashran map you know the answer. Map is designed to let ordes win.

earlier this week, i lost 8 random bgs in a row as horde, yeah right, alliance sucks and lose all the time

as if alliance didnt have good racials

Look at your ashran winning odds, 80%. nice job done.

I think they should bring back the merc bonus, I didn’t mind losing as much if I got extra honor out of it.
