I am at the point where I got the defias key and i’m at the chest, but for some reason it isn’t letting me open the chest despite the fact that I have the key. What am I missing?
I don’t remember the actual value needed, but it’s always been said you need lock picking skills as well… there’s a rogue quest sends you to redridge, and practice boxes that get you to 100, over by the lumber mill.
Need lockpicking at 80 or above or it wont work
Go level that lock picking skill!
Do you have a set of thieves tools in your inventory? If not, you need those to be able to pick locks at all. Then as the others have said maybe your lock picking is too low. Go back to Redridge and open them freezy boxes until they don’t skill you up anymore.
Yeah you need lockpicking skill.
Guides recommend atleast 70 but I’d go higher than that.
I went with LP at 75 and it took me 5 tries before I opened the box on the first try.
Go to Lakeshire get the quest to open lock boxes and get thieves tools, stand between the lock boxes and level it to 100, or as close as you can get.
Fly to WestFall, run North East close to a tower on the side of the water near a tree is a stealthed Rogue quest giver.
Do Not fight the lvl 26-28 undead zombie dude he hits for 200 a hit. I died a few times trying. He can see you in stealth from really far away also.
What I ended up doing was waiting for him to pass by, and I stealth Sprinted behind him and pick pocketed the key.
Then stealth up stairs jump behind the box looking toward the boss guy and open the box grab the item.
NOTE! I did the follow up quest for the ZANZIL Poison got the item, but when I logged back in to use it the Zanzil was gone.
I put the cure in my bank I didn’t need it…sigh
Did you log off or afk out? I say that because Zanzil is a poison so it’s possible someone just cured it off you.
I logged out, I ran around Stormwind grabbing the Bronze tubes and stuff needed, and then logged off to get to work. When I got home it was gone.
Did you hit stoneform at some point there? (I cured mine that way rather than looking for the needed stuff).
