Alliance ranking is about to get much easier

From what I’ve seen, the top rankers are already 10-12, which means they will soon reach their goals and then quit. It’s unlikely they will rank up alts any time soon.

The majority of AV games for me start with 15 or fewer Alliance. By the time it fills up to 40 players the Horde are so far ahead we have zero chance of winning. Best we can do is kill a couple lieutenants before the game ends assuming the Horde aren’t farming us at SH GY, which happens quite frequently. This means Alliance get diddly squat in honor. Yes, premades get much more honor, but the majority of Alliance players aren’t in premade groups. Because of the poor state of AV for Alliance, even more players are likely to quit.

So yes, Alliance ranking is about to get easier, but for all the wrong reasons. Alliance PVP is a disaster and will drive away all but the most determined players.

And once again it’s being caused by OTHER Alliance.

You don’t start with 15 people for no reason, it’s happening because those premades you aren’t in are refusing the queue when there aren’t enough of them getting that BG (because there are 15 of you pugs in there) That’s why you get farmed.

It’s also caused by a system that allows games to start in that condition and in which it has become almost necessary for said Alliance premades to form in order to have an actual chance at winning…

Yes, but Blizzard is still to blame for this situation. There is no legitimate reason for a game to start when the teams are so lopsided. I’m usually #nochanges, but not when it’s a game breaking bug or oversight.

AV is 40V40. If Alliance weren’t making premades you’d start with even numbers.

Are you saying Alliance can’t win a fair fight? That’s not what you were all saying during ALL of phase 2.

The legitimate reason is Blizzard rightly isn’t going to punish Horde who already have 30 minute+ queue’s when Alliance choose to dip out.

If we start out 40v40 and still lose, so be it. That’s on us the players, not Blizzard.

All Blizzard has to do is not let the game start until both teams have 30+ players. I don’t want to punish Horde players, just have fair games for both sides.

It’s not Horde dodging the queue, what you want us to wait while it cycles thru 10 groups for Alliance? No.

If Blizzards going to change anything, remove the BG number from the popup, and apply random delays when people queue up at the same time. Bam premades dead, problem solved and Horde doesn’t have to suffer to fix yet another Alliance action.

I’m hesitant to completely break premades because this is an MMO and players should be able to group with their friends. I would be ok with removing the BG numbers if 5 man groups could queue like on retail. Games shouldn’t start if the teams are uneven regardless though.

Except that’s not what is happening in AV at all. The system is specifically made to not allow you to play with specific people e.g. no group queue. Players are circumventing the intended behavior (random queue) by using discord servers - NOT to play with their friends - to make premades with strangers to roll over pugs. The 15v40 ally to horde games are just collateral damage of their behavior.

Sorry to burst anyone’s bubble here… but we’re only at the halfway point right now. Yes you read that correctly, the halfway point. Rank 12 -> 14 takes 6 weeks alone assuming you’re ranking in the top bracket. Also, the top bracket is percentile based, aka the more alliance players ranking, the more top bracket spots are available… so I imagine the premades haven’t been having a positive effect on pugs, discouraging alliance pug players to rank, therefore reducing the amount of people that will be able to hit rank 14 in the next 6 weeks

Except it’s already “broken” for Horde.

OP is totally right. The issue and solution is dead center in the face of Blizzard.
The gates should NOT open until either side has at least close to, or equal players. Then the timer should start. Period.
There’s no reason why the Alliance players that aren’t in a premade should be punished and stuck in a game that starts 17v40. Horde don’t care and why would they? It’s an automatic win for them.
The game eventually fills up, but the horde already have a major positional advantage that makes the Alliance next to impossible to progress past SHB because the team is scattered everywhere and half of the players haven’t even left the tunnel yet.

Bull, no solution that punishes Horde due to Alliance actions is permissible. Break premades and the problem goes away.

For ally pugs its complete garbage.

I did 488k honor last week still only went from r9 45% to 95%. I joined quite a few lfg/trade chat preforms but also pugged much of it and because I am not part of any elite preforms (top tier raider and r14 aspiring neckbeards) I had to put more hours into farming honor in AV than I would working a full time job, just to complete a blue set of gear which is comparable to t1.

It’s disgusting, Blizzard are scum for not fixing this kind of thing, but of course they rush out BWL when a few raiders start to whine on the forums.

It’s not the alliance players in that bg that are causing the problem either. Would you rather waIt til the bg fills or for those alliance to resort to the only other option, joining premades?

Fix the faction imbalance and we wouldn’t be having this issue.
Wait a second how is this punishing horde? By waiting an extra 45 seconds for the game to fill up? I’m confused.

By all means, do so. I’d prefer a slight challenge before we crush you.
Yet again, Alliance blaming everyone other than the other Alliance who are screwing them over for their problems.

That’s yet another problem that was caused by other Alliance you do realize this right?

Populations were fairly even on PVP servers at first. But alot of the Alliance who rolled PVP didn’t actually WANT to pvp. So even if numbers were even you were outnumbered because half of the Alliance weren’t actually PVPing. Then that half fled to greener pastures.

Mass unsubs coming to alliance. Just watch this game become a raid-logging ghost town, especially alliance side.
