Alliance - looking for darker RP guilds

I’m looking for something darker and grittier than a noble house or a mercenary company defending the Alliance… are there any guilds that border on occult, criminal, underworld themes?

I’m not looking for outright “evil” guilds just ones that dip into the less publicly-acceptable things.

Just a shot in the dark, but The Wolf Cult might be worth a look if the grim theme is your priority. Based on the cult from lore, the fundamental concept is that we believe the Worgen Curse is a blessing to be shared. While not evil, our freedom isn’t free, and fighting for our way of life brings in some grim themes. It borders on the occult as worthy humans are ritualistically bitten, the criminal as they must prove their worth in blood, and underworld especially as we have to shapeshift to keep under the radar.

I wouldn’t be able to join as a Void Elf though right?

Yeah, recruiting worgen and those ready to become one.

You might also try taking a peak at Darkshire. There have been some guilds hanging around town as of late.

Someone needs to make a Velf guild.

Also, can a Velf warlock and friends summon people to the Rift?

Darker guilds are lower. I would personally point you to the following:
-Dead Sun Harbor is a crime-adjacent guild with hints of darker magical themes. While they do engage in smuggling and select crime, they exist in a neutral magical area.
-Sicarian Coterie appears to be a rising crime guild.
-There is Malus Noctiferium, who seem to have taken up residence in Darkshore. I know little about them, but their content does seem more oriented toward darker/evil oriented themes, it at all.
And of course, if you ever see VANITAS, give them a holler. They’re OG crime lords on WRA.

I tried to talk to Dead Sun Harbor but they said they aren’t what I’m looking for (despite their website implying they were).

I’ll have to look into some of these others.

Seemed they were a dime a dozen when they first came out, I’m surprised how quickly they went extinct.

Shore or shire?

Everything is a dime a dozen when its new. Once the novelty of that newness vanishes, people lose interest and they quickly die off.

Just like all those Elven House guilds once upon a time, followed by the Demon Hunter only guilds, then the huge boon of Clan/Tribe guilds once Mag’har were brought out.

Happens every time.

Though I fully support a velf themed guild.

Yeah it always happens, a Void themed guild could be cool though if the racial guild thing is too limiting. Get some arcane mates and warlocks in, too, maybe interested in learning more about the Void from shadow priests and Void elves etc.
