It’s bribery, utter favoritism. People have always complained about this racial or that bit of story favouring one or the other- but this is the first time Blizz has straight up given one faction a major resource bonus AND free high ilvl gear solely for being that faction.
There’s no possible way to not call this Alliance bias, and it’s going to hurt the game in the long run.
You seem have forgotten your wow history, any time pve trinkets where strong in the age of emfh, alliance was the bis racial choice, hell even wod with ashran trinkets emfh was the best racial hands down.
easy fix would be to remove combat racials but activision couldn’t milk that sweet sweet transfer money then.
Alliance get three guaranteed 400+ items before Mythic is released.
You can already see the difference if you look at Wowprogress.
In Uldir Heroic only 3 out of the top 20 guilds were Alliance, it’s already more than doubled.
Considering the massive disparity in #s of guilds across factions I think that is decent enough indication of where it might go.
A 400 ilvl item is something Blizz is giving one faction, because they’ve decided to reward players who picked Alliance while giving the finger to those who made the wrong decision and picked Horde.
Top raid guilds only affects top raiders, and it’s also something players do, not Blizz.
Free top end gear affects every single player, and casuals in particular are going to feel this. Blizz has carefully cultivated this game to focus heavily on getting endgame gear- so knowing that you’re falling behind by leaps and bounds to the other side who are being heftily rewarded for logging in is pretty disgusting.
Huh, thats really odd because I can remember about a hundred different times over the years that the horde would get a raid group into deeprun tram and just run in and out attacking people.
Yes yes, blizzard has given the finger to the horde who were able to gear up their alts at the beginning of arathi before the gear score req was put in place. Or do you feel that doesn’t count because it was a whole tier ago? Also, the alliance players were offered a reward to turn warmode on because nobody felt like getting genked and the hardcore hordies spent the last few months raging about the lack of alliance to farm with 40 man raids. Chill dude, the zandalari will be released eventually and most people will switch. Once the alliance is depopulated due to switches or disgust over the lack of players, nobody will have to worry about it .
The horde spent what, 5 months running warmode into the ground, raid genking anyone and everyone at flightpaths and world quests to the point that the alliance stopped doing it en masse. Then your fellow horde came to the forums and tried everything from name calling to mocking to try and get alliance players to sign back up. Guess what, to poay and be outnumbered8 to 1 or so blizzard had to offer an incentive. Now the alliance get a piece of gear that will likely duplicate and the horde get opponents. If it is that big a deal to you, file a ticket telling blizz your problem with it. Enough people do that and they will drop the quest and you can go back to playing warmode with no alliance. I am sure everyone will even do that in a rational, non judgemental way as players are being so level headed about this right now.
Haha it definitely did happen. To be fair though at that point in time they had to run all the way through the city to get to the tram, and back then guards actually meant something (I mean seriously, current city guards hit weaker than random Deer).
To be honest, the scale was much smaller as firstly we are referring to something less than a month into the expansion, not as many people had alts at max level then for a start.
Secondly, it was fixed within 2 days while still within the Horde cycle, so it was limited people that even did it on those days.
Thirdly, we have no proof how many of those players were actually under the 320 requirement and how many would have legitimately been able to access it with or without the requirement.
Fourthly, the gear that people were getting was equivalent to LFR quality items not Heroic.
To compare guaranteed Heroic quality items each week to a single faction against a random occurrence that affected a questionable number of players and provided gear equal to or lesser than easily obtained gear is quite extreme.
Alliance is dominant on my battlegroup so this is all just a bunch of freebies for us to get while we stomp the Horde. Literally took over the Zandalari area yesterday. Was so fun
Edit: You don’t even need to get the kills yourself for them to count, anyone in your party can kill someone and you get credit lol
Well, the horde got the first piece of 370. Thats not lfr. The item level req went in place around 10pm eastern time that tuesday leaving two days before the alliance took over. Some other facts to consider, the first week of arathi, the horde had access long enough for at least four youtubers to gear their toons and put out videos about it well before the patch. Heelsvbabyface, bellular, soulsobreezy, and t&e. No, there are no hard stats. But there are no hard stats showing the games population has declined since launch and yet any reasonable person can see that it has.
Also, thank you for keeping this civil. It is really nice to see that people can disagree without hating each other.
The 370 was reasonable from a lore perspective. Although I should point out that I disagree with the warfront omega free loot in general.
Simply it would not have made sense for the Alliance to attack first, the Battle is about Stromgarde which is already an Alliance stronghold. It makes sense that the Horde would make an assault on it which would then force retaliation from the Alliance.
Personally I don’t like to lump youtubers in with the general populace, although they can be a negative influence on abuse systems in the game which can react negatively with the player base.
That being said though we are talking people who’s job it is to play video games, they have much greater luxuries than the general populace when it comes to gaming.
I would also have imagined with the amount of time they have they would have already been over 320 ilvl.
I think one thing we can definitely agree on is that the expansion (and possibly recent expansions up to BfA) have not been handling system implementations well.
Also thank you I try.
I’ve been a little tense though in general this past month or two so I feel I sometimes come off a bit short or more aggressive than I intend at times.
Trying my best, but dealing with people is dealing with people and some times it’s gets the best of you lol.
Welp. It seems we Horde have to mass turn warmode off to fix this since blizz have not done anything yet.
My warmode, that has been almost permanently on since xpac lanch, is now perma off until blizz fixes this bullcrap. I will not be ganked for free gear for other people anymore. Even if this means slightly better rewards.
To be honest, I dont like the heroic raid piece being given for warfronts. It is, to my opinion, no different than the.3patch catchup loot tokens they started putting in on the timeless isle. I feel they take away from a players sense of achievement. As for the youtubers, I dont like to lump them in but felt that it was more indicative of the fact that the knowledge was out there pretty early that weekend. Az actually geared a fresh 120 from 280 to 340 or 350 that weekend to show how the war and titan forging was rolling. That aside, all this wont matter once enough people complain and blizz drops the warmode quest. I figure it will last about two more weeks.
Let’s see here, one end of the tram is in Stormwind, which had one way in at the time, and the other was in Ironforge, which had, and still has, only one in. So, to get to the tram Horde had to go though one city or the other, both, again, with only one entrance.
My point is that we have been able to fly in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor since Cata, so why are you worried about things that are as much history as 13 hour AVs, deeprun tram raids, and wondering what Hyjal would look like when it was finally opened up in game? I want to be nice here, but you can literally fly into stormwinds throne room, so what is your point?
