Alliance Collectable Coin Set (2010)

Hello everyone!

Bit of an odd question here, unrelated to the game. I found, digging up in old things, an ‘Alliance Collectable Coin Set’ from 2010. It says (handwritten) 0229 / 1000 on the back, and, contains 3 Alliance-themed coins within a small glass display case.

A link of the same item from eBay (strictly for reference, this isn’t mine at all): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-World-Of-Warcraft-Limited-Edition-Alliance-Collectible-Coin-Set/133135263258?hash=item1eff7ae61a:g:9r4AAOSwYeZdEenK

I just saw this, and had no idea what it was, or where it came from, so I was hoping some WoW collectors could help.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post - I have no poor intentions, simply just asking what exactly it is.

Thanks!

Giving this a bump.

But it’s Alliance…it’s worth nothing.

Never seen that before, but it is pretty neat. I hope someone can help you out.

Appreciate it Stompy! Nice to see you by the way!

Why does the “Alliance” collectible coin set feature three coins with the gold one being labeled Stormwind, the silver one being labeled Ironforge, and the copper one being labeled “Silvermoon” instead of Darnassus?

Something’s not quite right…

Good observation! The eBay seller does indicate it was an error exclusively on the box.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the box.

Hmm, Google, “dc unlimited world of warcraft coins”.

Good find Kirnos, thanks.

Looks like the description matches what I have, but, not much of an indication anywhere unfortunately.

Thanks for everyone’s help thus far.

Does no one here recognize them though? That’s crazy considering I don’t collect WoW merch.

Interesting! I’ve never seen those before!!

At least the alliance has currency.

Unlike you mud hut dwellers using kodo poop to run your economy.

This really wasn’t where the discussion was meant to go lol.

I never heard of them until I saw this thread.

However, it’s likely I never heard about them since I’ve never been to Comic-Con:

Are you implying they’re a Comic-con item? Nobody I know has ever been to an event like that either…
