Alliance characters gear up much faster because of the world PVP disbalance

Hello,

Alliance can gear up alts significantly faster than horde. You just have to stay in the PVP zone and get free conquest every 20 minutes. This skews faction balance even further.

The majority of competitive PVP players play night elf. In every arena bracket 1800+ there are more night elves than horde players in total. The higher CR you go, the more alliance is represented.

This needs to be fixed somehow. You nerfed the orc racial. I’m sure you can do the same for night elf then

Thank you

Am I crazy in thinking Shadowmeld isn’t even that good… There are better racials.

I feel like its just one of those bandwagon things everyone just thinks is the MUST HAVE because they see the top guys or their favorite streamer playing one… Its not even NEW.
People jump around every expansion chasing metas, its never mattered that much unless you’re like in the VERY TOP TOP of ratings. So dont worry about it.

You dummies going to get a cool race feature removed because you feel like you’re being gimped in some way.

Crates are easy to get, form a group.

If you dont want to form a group, go to BFA or Dragonflight zones and loot those chests.

It depends on the server, i play ally on a horde server andd i never get the crates.

just spam battlegrounds, it’s actually pretty fast to gear up

Just my opinion but on 2 of my main classes (rogue and feral) shadowmeld feels absolutely MANDATORY because of how it interacts with the class. I would never choose a different race as long as it works as currently designed.

That said, as for crates, alliance usually never form groups and get crates 90%+ of the time, and yes when horde do form groups they will then take the crates for as long as the group runs and alliance typically wont bother and will go to another zone to continue farming. So, ultimately that is the solution for the horde that want crates but it’s unfortunate they have to do so while alliance don’t but it’s either us or them tbh.

Blood token gear is uncapped. you can get a starter tier set almost immediately. then you win a bg, bam, crafted weapon. Gearing up is real easy. Only thing you’re really missing is 639 trink/jewelry

hmm sure, maybe it’s my ocd but on certain classes where I don’t need another weapon to switch specs or need wep embellishment I would never craft a weapon with those free ribbons when I’m gonna get a free weapon in a day thru the achieve. Much better to craft jewelry + whatever else needed for embellishment.

You’re a bit crazy for thinking it isn’t that good. Shadow Meld is the most versatile racial, it has many usage cases.

It’s a free vanish for every class who chooses Night Elf. It is a stationary stealth, it drops combat instantly, resets aggro/targeting, negates incoming spells, and rogues and druids can use stealth based abilities from it. Because it drops combat instantly, healers are able to get instant drinks which is huge in battles of attrition in rated PvP. There’s also some nutty things you can do with it in M+, RaiderIO made an entire video on YouTube on some of the things besides just skip strategies. Many bosses who have mechanics where they chase or target a player are completely negated by Shadow Meld.

No other racial in the game comes close to this level of utility. While there are strong racials, the only one even remotely comparable would be Dwarf’s.

As for it not being new, that’s true—but the game has changed in ways that have made Shadow Meld stand out more. For instance, the ability to negate damage or effects from spells (like an incoming Chaos Bolt or Stormbolt) was introduced when Blizzard wanted stealth classes, particularly Rogues, to have protections during Vanish. This inadvertently buffed Shadow Meld, as it shares the same protections. Combine that with nerfs to other racials like Arcane Torrent and Orc Hardiness, and it’s no surprise players started gravitating toward Night Elf.

Even with the new racial buffs Blizzard is rolling out, it’s unlikely players will switch because Shadow Meld remains so dominant. The buffs aren’t comparable to Shadow Meld.

I don’t think it needs to be gutted, but it definitely needs a rework to bring it in line with other racials. Something like:

I phased over to ED last night. Sad over there.

The RP realms are the least populated in Warmode, but ED def has it the worst.
