… so apparently not that many, if any, Alliance switched off war mode when the bonuses mostly disappeared. So much for the theory that Alliance are motivated just by the rewards.
Alliance will keep WM on , doesnt matter the rewards. The last month was a mind switch for the alliance, now they know they can fight back in any situation. The Zuldazar incursion last night was a massacre.
Either that or all the horde turned it off because they were tired of getting killed when all they wanted to do was make loh go.
I think it’s a combo of the carebear horde continuing to turn it off, while some alliance stuck around despite lack of AOO. Both of which are good things IMHO. Last week had great balance from what I saw.
Both of these statements can be more accurate by adding the word “some”. Clearly some ally (and horde) are motivated only by the rewards. Fuhrious is a perfect example.
Completed the incursion on my 4 120s with little to no resistance. I saw a few Alliance running around and only a raid or 2 on specific shards. It’s no where near the same it’s been for the past month or so.
So either Alliance are turning off WM or I happen to be at the right time. Given the state it’s been and the fact that I have multiple 120s on different battle groups I’d say it’s option 1.
That wouldn’t account for many Horde saying there are a lot less Alliance running around compared to a week ago. I was able to get the incursion done on 4 120s across multiple battle groups as well as complete the WQ in Voldun with little to no resistance. I’d say a lot of Alliance have turned off WM being they’re not getting the AOO quest right now.
My Horde characters just one (wm on).
My Alliance alts all wm on.
Thats the problem. It may be because im in an RP server (i was in Sargeras but transfered at the begining of BFA for the lulz and i stayed), but god damn, warmode in Moonguard is insane, very balanced imo and is always a massacre. A very good option if you wanna do fair WPVP
I play both factions. My horde toons saw pretty even numbers at the incursions last week. A few of the incursions I did on my pally had 0 horde (nothing on Spy). anecdotally, we both saw the same thing (my pally and your warrior).
Based on the bonus remaining at 15%, horde slightly outnumbers alliance still. There were definitely people from both sides that disabled last week I suspect. Carebears aren’t faction exclusive.
Yeah, as I understand it RP Servers are their own unique animal.
It was the last assault of the week, and I saw a lot fewer people on both factions, probably because most people are already capped on Conquest. I did it mostly to help out some of my guildies who were not capped. We did slaughter the Horde we came across, but that was generally because other than us, not a lot of people on either side were running in groups.
Also, part of what the dwarf and I are seeing is likely because we’re on RP shards, which tend to skew more to the Alliance or less to the Horde than Normal shards.
Or maybe Blizzard’s in-game mechanism for tracking and handling warmode inbalance is bogus.
Not to put on a tin foil hat or anything, but I have wondered. I would love to know the true numbers and their methodology behind the bonus calculation.
Does anyone seriously believe that there is a automatic system calculating the bonus ?
Blizz manually shut the quest down because they were looking for a way to get rid of the AOO quest which was a bad idea from the start and the 400 gear level fiasco gave them a reason to do it .
Based on last week, it’s pretty clear that the percentage is automatic, but the quest appearance was probably manual implementation of a fixed policy based on the percentage and got done late. Whether they’ve learned from that and made the quest appearance automatic as well we don’t know.
If Blizzard had been “looking for a way to get rid of the AOO quest”, they wouldn’t have left it on in the EU.
The trouble with war mode now, isn’t so much the difference between 15%-30% or even 10%. Its the fact that I can only gain 500 conquest in a week, and after that, I have no reason to keep it on other than at level 39, I need 68,000 AP per level and that don’t come easy without an extra 10%.
I mean hell … have you ever farmed herbs without warmode on? its a dream … I circled the Azerite WQ area in Drustvar and clipped 10 Anchor weed in less than 20 minutes. It was unreal. Did the same in Nazmir.
It was disabled because world pvp is now balanced and horde doesn’t outnumber alliance anymore.
LOL
It really comes down to the time of day and shard that you are playing on. Last night during the Zuldazar incursion I ran with 10 guildies and were massacring Horde left and right. We also died a few times because the Horde weren’t being pushovers either, especially when we got bounties on our heads. All in all it was good fun.
I tried farming herbs with WM Off, but there are soooo many druid bots running around. The world also seems laggier with WM Off.
The farming probably depends on the server. Maelstrom needs more of those druid bots, our ore prices are more than double the average server.
