Alliance are permanently locked out of legacy WOTLK content

So, I want a transmog appearance from Vault of Archavon. Access to this raid requires your faction controlling the un-instanced version of Wintergrasp. The problem is Horde always control it, and Wintergrasp is impossible to solo as an attacker. Most of the time NPC kills don’t register, so it easily takes 15-20 minutes just to build up rank. With only 10-15 minutes left, there simply isn’t enough time to break through the walls and into the chamber in order to win the encounter. This is very frustrating and something that Blizzard apparently didn’t consider when adding Wintergrasp to the Epic BG queue. No one does the un-instanced version anymore, meaning Alliance are locked out of the raid.

make a horde toon. ITs faster to lvl a toon on the right side then wait for blizz to do something correct.

Now that WG is relevent as a BG again, they should just disable the PvP game in that uninstanced version now. Make the fortress a neutral ground and open up VoA to everyone at all times.

By this point both VoA and Baradin Hold should just be open all the time regardless of who controls it. It’s super old content and can be frustrating on imbalanced servers.

or give you a buff for like 12 hours or somthing that allows you to enter the raid after you win the BG

What are you trying to get? I don’t think there’s any loot that is specific to VoA. It’s all PVP gear that can also be purchased from vendors or raid gear that you can also get from the various WotLK raids.

Mounts and achieves. There are a few off-pieces that are only available in there too I believe, but I could be wrong on that now.

I don’t understand why they didn’t do this to begin with. It makes no sense having an instanced and un-instanced version of Wintergrasp.

Love, Wintergrasp now switches back and forth between the Alliance and the Horde. If the Horde are currently in control, simply wait for the next session and the Alliance will have control of the Keep next.

I farm from Archavon myself, my blushing blueberry pie. A little patience and you will be justly rewarded.

So did I, but that was several expansions ago. The NPCs hit way harder and the tanks do way less damage. Not sure when this changed.

Really? Cause every time I check it is Horde controlled.

I am not sure what to tell you, love. Two weeks ago I recall wanting to farm Archavon on my Druid and it was Horde controlled. I forgot about it and came back the next day, it was in control by the Alliance.

Daily perhaps? I admit that I assumed it would be by battle, and we all know what happens when you assume things. A thousand apologies my graceful germane.

I just went far enough away it would let me mount up. Fly in air as high as I can towards the vault. But its gonna dismount you after a few seconds. After a few tries I got over the wall and got in

Actually there is some loot that’s exclusive to Vault of Archavon (not sure if Baradin has exclusive loot too). The Ulduar sets can’t be completed in the Wardrobe without getting a few drops from Vault. I think it’s the legs and belt.
Also, the vault does drop a mammoth that’s different from the one you can buy from your faction’s Wintergrasp vendor (who I believe is also only available while your faction controls the area).

I gave up on this a couple of years so ago because I could never get in as Horde. I’ve not tried to get back to it since. :crying_cat_face:

You can get the token to buy those pants from Hodir in Ulduar.

And I’m not saying they shouldn’t change VoA, just pointing out that there should be alternative ways to get the armor pieces from there.

Boots, belts, some pants, etc only come from VoA. Every time I try to put together a transmog set I run into this issue. lol
