I would love a warcraft animated series if they gave it the castlevania treatment. I liked this even if I think Alleria is lame lmao
“I’ve sacrificed everything, what have you given?”
I dunno Alleria…I feel like it’s okay for you just to enjoy the power of the Void for the sake of it. You don’t have to justify the why as being “I’m doing it to defend the ones I love even though it’s driven a deep wedge between us all!”
I mean, that’s what drew me to the Blood Elves initially as a race to begin with. “Hell yeah we drain Magic from items and creatures to stave off our addiction. What of it?”
I know old Blizzard had a LOT of problems, but Alleria’s kinda getting the SC2 Kerrigan treatment and I’m not a fan of it. Sometimes it’s okay to just enjoy something.
We need an entire series DAMN that was some good stuff!!!
Me: Alleria stinky
Also me: Sees two seconds of a krokul which means DRAENEI CONTENT YAAAHHHHHH
I don’t trust Blizzard’s writing to do more than a 2-3 minute cinematic.
I am interested, but not overly impressed by the cinematic. I mostly play for friends and have given up on Blizzard and Metzen putting out storylines that are anything other than generic “Orcs-humans-elves good! Everyone else incompetent or evil!”
Castlevania Series 2 (not season) is exactly what a WoW anime would look like.
Blizz please stop writing [Epic music] in your subtitles just do ♫ like everyone else
…I actually thought this was well below their recent offerings.
My favorite part was Alleria using her bow to whack people in the face more than shooting it.
She took notes from that Sylvanas Warbringer’s episode. She, unlike her sister, is prepared.
Sylvanas learned the power slide move from her oldest sister, confirmed.
Sighs wistfully in original Survival spec
I miss being an actual Ranger.
I liked it alot.
Largely because it was just “cool”. Just all hype, stylized, overly dramatic action with some sappy bits that fit the classic dramatization that WoW was when it started and what it was inspired from. Wacraft is at it’s best when it’s just style and a sprinkle of substance.
I’d like to see more of this and in that animation style too.
I liked the art style, music, and the overall Warcraft feel that’s been lacking in WoW’s storytelling lately. Seeing all the Windrunner sisters was also a bonus.
That said, it also was more of a personal declaration than an actual narrative story, which is fine but WoW over-relies on these types of videos in lieu of actual “show don’t tell” storytelling. Something-something, WoW’s writing isn’t as strong as its contemporaries but at least it’s improving on its own style, something-something. I hope to see this animation style in the future (+ a higher budget) that gives us a real short story from start to finish.
At the end of the day this is a more flashy version of the Alleria questline we got recently, it even goes over the three things she regrets most.
