Exactly… Let’s be honest here in that the only reason Mu’uru’s core was used to re-ignite the Sunwell was because of Velen’s expertise. I’m pretty sure Velen would be pretty upset if someone tried to use his actions as justification to take someone’s homeland.
Way to twist people’s word. The entire thing started with an orc player decided to insult the Alliance and call it losers, when in fact if not fro the Alliance Quel’thalas would have been destroyed by Kil’jaeden by now.
And if not for the Horde, we’d have gotten no help with our Scourge invasion problem. Helping people does not mean you get any claim. A couple of Alliance helped. Some sent spies, most could not care what happened to Silvermoon.
Then why did they side with the humans that tried to exterminate them? The undead are canonically from Lorderon, which is the group that tried to kill them. This had nothing to do with Storwind humans. Clearly they have no real pride it’s just fake bravado.
Again, I am not using the whole Velen thing as some sort of claim for Quel’thalas. I personally dont care too much about and expect Blizzard might just give the void elves their own capital someday. The entire thing is my rebuke to the claims are losers. Especially considering without Quel’thalas would probably be Legion Central now.
Quel’thalas was only a part of the Alliance during the Second War, and only under the absolute most begrudging of circumstances, that being an ancestral IoU owed to Anduin Lothar.
Second the war was over, the Elves were officially out of the Alliance.
By this point they have been an active member of the Horde for far longer than they ever were part of the Alliance.
This. The High Elves (Sin’dorei) of the High Elven realm of Quel’thalas hope for the day when their errant kin (Quel’dorei), repent of their misplaced loyalty and return to their homeland.
Sounds like another faction war could fix that. Not that I am particularly itching for another conflict but if ever another War does happen Silvermoon would be the first target by the Alliance.
“Hey lets use the research notes of the guy responsible for 90% of our friends and family members dying to snort old god farts. What could go wrong?!” - The Void elves.
Frankly they’re dumb enough to be a perfect match for the Alliance
They have no government, no army, no homeland, no authority, and no population. They’ve a handful of far flung isolated settlements, one character of any measurable significance, and the WoW equivalent of a neighborhood watch organization in Dalaran. That’s it. They’re effectively extinct and wholly irrelevant.
They matter as much as the human pirates siding with the Horde against Kul’tiras.
As oppose to the blood elves who decided to start snorting fel magic, the magic of the demons who created the Lich King? Yeah that is just rich.
The high elves have probably gotten more involvement in WoW’s story that half the race in WoW. Also, your description easily matches the Forsaken or the Mag’har right now.
I welcome this. My best memories of being Horde, was when they were the under-dogs. I say that principally because I know a lot of very toxic people would jump Alliance side if the Void Elf Paladin (or “High Elf” Paladin), was a thing.
Thus I would be delighted if Blizzard made a special case there like they did the “Veteran of the Fourth War”. Silver Hand era in Classic with the Horde as the underdog and the Alliance shrieking with rage when we ‘did’ win… Ah, those were happy times.
