Alleria & Jaina hate thread

These are my two most hated characters in the game and it’s not close. It’s only close between which of these two I hate more. Just thinking about either one of them makes me shake…I can feel the inner CRUG within me want to take over and consume me.

Let me start with Alleria, possibly one of the most arrogant and entitled characters in all of Warcraft (rivaled by Jaina of course)

Anyway how dare she waltz into Silvermoon trying to seed the narrative, the possibility of the blood elves defecting to the Alliance.

I understand that the blood elves had beef with Garrosh and had doubts about the Horde, but that was years ago…Ironically thanks to Jaina the blood elves did not defect.

Sindori lives were lost in the civil war against Garrosh. It’s their horde just as much as it is mine! They deserve to have power within it, and they do. In fact they have more power within the horde than they ever would in the alliance cough cough high king.

Back to Alleria, she waltzes in, offers defection, and almost taints the sun well.

You’re telling me she had NO idea that the void within her wouldn’t have gone CRAZY in the presence of a light powered source such as the sun well? Please! The fact that she thought the blood elves would even defect just shows how clueless and entitled she really is. She is so out of touch and diluted. ALL THE WHILE ENDANGERING HER FORMER PEOPLES POWER SOURCE WITH HER PRESENCE. THATS WHY VOID PRACTICERS WERE BANNED IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I hate her. I hate the alliance. I want her dead.

But perhaps not as much as Jaina who I will admit I’ve hated longer. Much longer. In fact we go back to the year 30…the purge of dalaran. when Jaina massacred innocent blood elves in dalaran. The sunrreavers.

Skip years later to the invasion of ZANDALAR, slaughtering more innocents ending in the murder of King Rastakan…

And now In the shadows rising book she’s all about keeping the peace? Worried about ruffling feathers with the Horde?

Like does she think we forgotten? Does she think we’ve forgiven about all she’s done to us? Now in her mind we want to be her friend? (I’m referring to the part of the book when she confronts anduin about the concern of ariella and turyolions hunt of sylvanas and how it might disrupt peace with the horde)

It’s the arrogance, the entitlement. Now that Jaina wants peace, now that she wants to stop the fighting, now that she’s OK with everything. The horde now has to play nice?

NO! Not after the sunreavers, not after king rastakan.

Speaking of shadows rising. Great book. Queen Talanji has become my FAVORITE horde leader. We both hate Jaina so much, both of our parents were slain by the alliance. We have a lot in common.

You understand the BELVES were originally going to join the Alliance, right? Like, before she disappeared with Turalyon.

The Horde bombed the town she founded out of existence and killed her apprentice. I think she’s due a little revenge.

Maybe if the Horde would stop being aggressors all the time, peace could actually happen.

If you murder my mother. I get to murder yours? And nothing happens to you because you were due to get revenge?

You’d be charged with murder as I was.

Two wrongs don’t make a right.

I actually like Jaina. I sort of understand her actions.

Alleria can kick rocks. She’s the most hypocritical lore character ever imo.

Who were he aggressors when the alliance killed the goblin miners? Asking for a friend.

Stop acting like the alliance are NEVER the aggressors. It’s def a two way back and forth with both factions

It’s the smugness, the elitism, the sense of entitlement and privilege…it reeks. They don’t think they can ever be held accountable for their actions.

Thanks for admitting your side directly affected her actions.

Do you actually think it was ok for the Horde to bomb an entire town and not have ANYTHING happen to them?

Sure, Jaina acted as judge, jury, and executioner, but in Azeroth, there’s not really a court system or a UN to cover such things.

I’d also like to point out that the entirety of the purging could have been avoided if literally ANYBODY had said no to Aethas… at any point… (especially Lor’themar)

Frankly, I never EVER wanted the bombing to happen. And I believe that bombing planted the seeds of what would be the revolt of the warchief, and the civil war that followed.

I was raised in the orgrimmar orphanage thanks to you… I remeber hearing stories about garrosh in northrend.

I saw him as a hero. I was finally able to join the horde army two years later when I came of age.

How do you think I felt? I felt betrayed? This was one of my heroes? One of my idols? Using such heinous and dishonorable tactics in war. This was not the orc I heard about.

Also no court system. One word…PANDARIA.

This. I too wish people would stop always relating to the Horde as the aggressors without taking Alliance’s actions into considerations. I mainly play Alliance but BOY have we done some shady stuff too. It’s not just Horde being bAdS™ .

If you’re going to RP on the forums, you really shouldn’t mention things that happen IRL:

Be consistent, please.

Also to be fair, Pandaria has been non violent for centuries for good reason… even the slightest tinge of anger could have unleashed a giant manifestation of rage and devastation. Speaking of which, thank god neither Genn nor Jaina went there…

Well done to them, who ordered them to betray the neutrality of the city she was trying to maintain.
They came for a rematch when we went to save Baine from Orgrimar and got beaten again. Jaina 2 X Sunreaver 0

Well done to this dying king too, they sent those disgusting dinosaurs to Boralus, walked around with the corpse of Derek Proudmoore to insult the family’s memory. They got what they deserved.

Not to mention Theramore. Jaina is absolutely right, Dismantle

RP OFF:

There is no reason to hate the Alliance, of these 2 Million players, 1000 must play in the Alliance currently, the faction has already died.

I’m not saying the Alliance hasn’t done shady stuff.

However, he’s referring to two specific people that merely reacted to Horde aggression. I’d say in both cases, the Horde members on the receiving end had it coming.

I can hate Jaina and like shadows rising at the same time. In fact. Shadows rising giving me more of a reason to hate Jaina makes it that much better.

We are having a debate partly because of that book. You can’t have these debates over a game like ff14 or gw2.

Which is why I want people to stop advocating for the homogenezation of this game.

Oh I was just generally speaking as far as my comment is concerned, I’ve just heard people say similar things somewhat often.

As far as Jaina and Alleria are concerned - I quite like both of them and understand where they come from if I put myself in their shoes.

Sorry Crug but I have to inject a little love for my girls into your hate thread

That is a very good point. Some of the best books I have read have made me loathe a character even more - it’s what good writing should do

Queen Talanji is my favorite leader. I emphasize with her plight. ZANDLAR FOREVER.

Shadows rising made me like her that much more!

The purge of Dalaran is one of the more successful faction war story plots Blizzard has created. People are still debating the morality of it as well as being emotionally invested in it.

Same and I can’t say I care about the folks crying about her being a virtue plug for being a woman. Love Talanji.
