All Things Warrior in TWW (Feedback Points)

Yeah, it would make sense just to combine Rend and Deep wounds like they did in the past.

Rend is not an exciting button to press and lots of things apply it anyway. Just have everything that works with Rend apply to Deep Wounds.

If they want to give Rend a purpose, they should give it the Skull Splitter effects.

I like the different animations. If anything I think they should give Arms the Fury WW, give it a CD, and have it replace Sweeping Strikes.

Sweeping Strikes does not have a good animation and the GCD on a move that does no damage feels bad.

I kinda liked that in Legion. Not sure I want them linked again though.

Have Slam refresh Hamstring >_>

Hi, sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this was the most relevant one I found regarding the Rend ability.

Iā€™m a returning PVP-only Warrior, and I was interested in learning more about the most recent discussion on this thread about when/if you use Rend. I was thinking of doing a build without any Rend abilities at all.

I was a bit confused by this:

Is Valorcus here saying that itā€™s strange, and yet you would (should) still do it? What is the benefit of this? Do Deep Wounds keep rolling kind of like Mage Ignites?

Would I be making a big mistake in forgoing all Rend abilities? Any special mechanics or interactions I would be missing out on if I do that, besides the meager damage?

Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply back and I believe I saw you make a similar thread somewhere else trying to ask if you would be at a disadvantage not taking Rend.

I can speak for PvP but not PvE. Unfortunately the answer is yes. You will be worse off without Rend by a large margin in PvP.

Rend does damage regardless of armor. So Rend is high value against Paladins, Warriors and DK compared to just spamming Overpower/Slam as fillers.

Then, so many classes have such high mobility that you need to have Rend rolling on them at all times to maintain damage and pressure. Mages and Hunters are big counters to Warriors in PvP. Without Rend, you will find it so difficult to kill these targets.

As for the gameplay element, yes Rend is redundant. Rend is essentially Deep Wounds #2.

I personally, love Arms the most when I am pressing Mortal Strike, Overpower and Execute for the vast majority of my rotation. I also enjoy throwing in the occasional Slam/WW as rage dumps for tactician procs. But nothing kills the spec for me more than having to constantly press and maintain my Rend on targets.

It still baffles me that armored to the teeth isnā€™t where wild strikes stands since avatar and armored to teeth are always taken.

Cruel strikes, a crit talent imo should be above spear since that capstone deals with crit.

Other than that I totally agree with everything you mentioned

Sadly, this feedback was given during beta. Maybe we will see changes in 11.1.
