By the flip of the coin using your own argument, what is there to say about everyone else deciding what’s best for a particular person’s choice of play or spec? They then become an obstacle to their own enjoyment of the game.

Besides that… it’s 100% fine to min/max,… but when you start excluding and ridiculing other players because they don’t choose to is when I have a problem.
It would be understandable if the content was very difficult and min/maxing everything is absolutely necessary to completing the content… but that isn’t the reality…
You wouldn’t even notice if you had ret pallys/moonkin whatever, in the raid.

I agree. I just laugh when I hear players trying to shame others into being a particular spec in a nerfed version of vanilla, they’re being pointlessly ridiculous.

I think its absolutely insane people have eye of sulfuras dropping for them. I have farmed MC from classic straight thru to BFA and never once seen it drop. I have like 9 thunderfury bindings but not one eye in over a decade of farming

It was removed from the game in Cataclysm I believe.
I’m not a fan of guilds like that either. I’m just saying that it’s an inevitability that guilds will be like that, because they’ll know the exact classes and specs needed because the content never changes. If you’re not about being a hardcore raider then there’s zero reason to take that advice, I’m personally not even a fan of raiding myself as I feel like it limits the performance of the individual too much. I just think that that’s how it will be given how I’ve seen the playerbase act.
Most guilds have about 5 pity slots to throw meme specs in.

He is also in olympus, was also given the eye to obtain it, is also a friend of the gm of olympus, is also nowhere near top dps in any raid, is also way behind mconell the #2 parsing ret in the world also in olympus who is behind estafand the #1 parsing ret who is either in the guild you are in or you are such a fan boy that you had to join a guild with the same name.
This is what you dont understand, even the #2 dps paly in the world utterly sucks at dps.

People can ultimately do what they want… but I am saying that peoples actions don’t happen in a bubble, and they have consequences… because this is a community game.
People who play for fun will rarely, if ever, complain.
People who are Theorycrafters will always complain.
I personally like it this way, it makes it easy to tell who I wanna hang out with and who I don’t.

Cleared Ony, 20 man raid with 2 ferals and a ret pally… literally only thing stopping people raiding as “meme” specs is this pre-conceived idea that you need the best specs in the game to vlear content efficiently.
The raids right now are a joke. Our guild doesnt mind bringing these specs because these players help out everyobe outside of raids. Sure if AQ or Naxx start being a challenge we might ask them to respec, but right now its laughably easy.

I’m pretty sure people were doing roughly equivalent DPS on average to a meme spec in vanilla on the top tier specs. It really isn’t hard.
For some reason the dungeons are seriously under tuned so all specs are fine. Once i ran a few dungeons and saw how easy they were compared to Private servers, i switched mains from Holy Priest to Prot Pally. I have less than no problem tanking 5 man’s. On Pservers i gave up by level 30 and switched to healing pally. So thanks to the dumbing down of the dungeons if anyone says you can’t join because of your spec then they are being an moron
