Yeeeeesh. Even though I started this thread, it might be time for a lock. Seems to have devolved into the same five people in an infinite game of “I know you are, but what am I?” chicken, trying to see who will stop posting first.
This whole thing is funny to me that people are all upset about the slime cat.
Id like everyone to realize this. Never. Not one time, has a “meta acheievement” mount been awarded through LFR for a raid tier. The slime cat is exactly that. It’s the “meta achievement” for raids in season 4. Just because people want the mount doesn’t mean that blizzard has to change something that has always been the case because of complaints.
Put in a little bit of time and effort into getting better at your class/spec and just watch a quick video on boss fights. Normal is not much more challenging than lfr if you just know basic mechanics.
There are also many tools to help you find a guild or even just a raid group to run with regularly. Can join the WoW recruitment discord and make a post, or reach out to someone. Raider io you can make a post on. These recruitment fourms. The in game guild finder. Just a few options listed.
If you want to just be lazy and don’t feel like putting in even 30% effort, then you shouldnt be rewarded anyways.

Big fan of your work here. Smart, logical approach to the matter and I hope your contributions lead to Blizzard either issuing and apology and mentioning that their intentions were always to have it in Normal+, or correcting their mistake and allowing it to be gotten in LFR.
Their silence is reprehensible here and one would hope that after this is over they will have learned a lesson or three…although they don’t seem to learn much judging by the last 5+ years.

They should just get rid of LFR and make 10 man Normal raids queueable.
What I would like to see, aside from a proper friends and family difficulty like Wrath 10 man was, is an occasional smaller raid here and there. They can still have the big epic 8+ boss raids, but every once in awhile, add in something like Ony, VoA, TB, or ToC, a small 1-5 boss raid with minimal trash, something a small group of friends could get together and knock out in an afternoon or two.

The mount was never intended to be from LFR. The achievement was made before LFR became part of fated raids as originally LFR was not going to become fated.
What part of “any raid difficulty” do you believe does not count LFR?
LFR was originally NOT going to be one of the fated raid difficulties. That means fated would have been normal/heroic/mythic.
The achievement states any “fated” raid difficulty.
LFR was added to the fated raid list last minute and the achievement was missed.
Once someone made a thread asking for clarification if the mount was rewarded from LFR and a blue post saying no.
Then the achievement was fixed to say normal and above.
But yet it was?
