How many prepatch were not perfect and when going into the proper expansion and all of the sudden the pre patch issues are not there anymore? So tell me how many of these event happened in the past? Since some of you are so keen on telling blizzard to delay TWW just because of what you are experiencing on the prepatch and think that the expansion will experience the same thing when you yourself don’t know if it will do or not at all.
Most of them haven’t tested the Beta or are just listening to streamers. The Beta is in good shape. Yes, a few small bus, but that is expected and I’m talking very minor or hard to replicate bugs.
The expansion is good to go. Just cause the pre-patch has some issues doesn’t mean everything will.
Uninformed people parroting streamers that worked them into a frenzy and scree’ing that the world is falling and the expansion isn’t ready has been a forum staple at least since legion.
There will be bugs.
People will cry
It won’t be a big deal.
Just level in dungeons, and don’t worry about the bugs in the campaign or whatever nonsense people are whining about.
People will cry. They will find a reason to. The ptr looks solid. There’s always bugs on the release of something. I don’t expect to play much on the 22. But stuff should be fluffed out by the 23 and should help with a good full release on the 26.
Its coming from people who have not played 2 seconds of beta. I dont know why but Blizz dropped a very buggy prepatch. When the current Beta had most of the bugs going on in live Fixed. Which is probably why Bliz has been so radio silent on fixes.
This method is cheap and lazy. But it seems Microsoft has trimmed the budget quite a bit so it is what it is.
The smoothest prepatch I remember from recent memory was Legion:
- almost no lag or DCs
- prepatch “invasion” events were a huge success, you could level alts galore simply by following the “swarm” of other players and tagging mobs
- everything worked for the most part, no “gamebreaking” bugs/glitches
- etc
Even the actual launch on August 30 was buttery-smooth for some reason, servers were buzzing with players yet there was no significant “login queue” or lag/DC issues
is Ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-D
Feel like there is a generational difference between what is accepted and what isn’t acceptable anymore when it comes to launching a game or an expansion. Standards have laxed compared to then and people have just come to accept the sub-par performance of the company that puts out the material.
Not everyone does dungeons, quests, raids or world content. But because not everything is properly tested and because you might not do some of those choices doesn’t mean it’s not going to adversely affect another portion of the gaming population.
Personally, if I am paying for a game and especially a monthly fee, then I want as few of issues as possible. I want the game properly tested with people that are testing, not looking for exploits or ways to beat content when it goes live. I want the game company to listen to those testers feedback. I want that game not to be driven by shareholders who seek profits over quality of content.
Unfortunately, today’s youth have come to accept that; there need to consume content and make that content available without proper testing. This leads to arguments about needing or not wanting a delay of product.
Pretty much all of them, but that information is not useful to the doomers and forumites so they ignore it.
Well the necrotic Wake necropolis bug has existed for 5 years now. You can’t cast many spells there, like breath of aeons.
Are they gonna fix that by release?
