I go to character, currency and there is nothing. I have two main players I did most of my pvp with, I’m posting from one of them. There is no chance I spent all of my honor before I quit the game, especially on my rogue.
There’s a much greater chance I was honor capped on both characters. Is there anything I can do or is this just something that happened with many upgrades/expansions since the time I quit? I believe the last time I played was 2016. I did sub for a month in 2020 just to show some friends my characters, but i didnt play at all.
I even was doing some RBG’s and Arena on this character too and I don’t seem to see any currency for that, although I’m not entirely sure anymore what that currency would have looked like…some badges or something?
Also please tell me if this is the right place for this post. If not I’ll post it somewhere else.
Honor and conquest points weren’t currencies in Legion or BFA, any that you had from WoD would have been long gone. Any conquest you earned in SL prior to s4 would also be gone, but your honor would have stuck around. If you haven’t PvPed in SL at all you wouldn’t have any of either currency.
It doesn’t look like you’ve PvPed at all since Legion since you’re still honor level 1, so like I said, you won’t have any of either currency. You would have had to earn the honor in SL for it to still be there.
Okay but then wouldn’t they have compensated players with remaining/existing honor with something at that time? Some kind of exchange of old honor for something…i mean anything really. I mean I grinded some bg’s for hours back in the day. At least let me upgrade my heirlooms or something!
yeah, they did. they turned it all into gold and mailed it to you. if you didnt pick it up in the allotted time frame, then it would give the appearance that you were robbed, when in reality, you were MIA or inattentive.
either way, the exchange rate on both currencies was awful, so you didnt lose out on much.
Yikes that is terrible. I mean what kind of a stupid idea was that? Typically you only get a month to retrieve mail. Inactive player’s should not be punished and lose currency they earned just because they took a break from the game.
if you rent a storage unit, and stop paying for it, that unit is not under obligation to continue to store your stuff, right? and if you dont come pick it up, then you lose it, because it became property of the storage unit’s owner.
uh the load of storing a few bytes of data? whats that cost them? 0.000000000000000000000000000000000001 penny every 10 years? LMFAO are you serious? No a storage unit is an actual physical space. We are talking about storing ONE 4 to 5 digit number. The cost of that is too small to even calculate.
No, we’re not. Thats what we’ve paid for when we bought the game, paid for subs, and paid for expansions. Thats one of the selling points of the game. Deleting players currency or any game items is poor form and it turns players away, unless these items are exchanged for some other items of value. I just came back to the game and this among other things is not likely to earn my $15 per month, and definitely does not encourage me to buy the next expansion.
I understand the situation perfectly. Your rationale behind the situation is merely guesswork, it is not rooted in anything rational or logical. Storing basic bits of numbers is incredibly easy to do these days and is incredibly cheap .How many free gb of data do most free email providers offer? Storage is ridiculously cheap.
last response here, and hopefully you get it through your head this time.
blizzard? okay? has NO OBLIGATION to leave things in your mailbox. the longest ANY item can be in your mailbox is 365 days, and i’ve only seen that on item restorations.
even items coming from the game itself, like the brew of the month club, have 30 day timers on them. if you miss it, tough luck.
you play the dice, and lost. as stated before, you didnt lose much in the way of gold from the conversions, yet here we are, throwing a tantrum over it and acting like im the one with a comprehension issue.
if youre that upset about it, OPEN A TICKET, WE DONT CARE
edit: forgot to mention, its not guesswork, its literally built into the system to prevent your precious “bytes of data” from collecting and eventually causing an issue. its basic server maintenance tech 101. get a grip.
Uh i never asked you or cared about your useless opinion regarding timelines on mail items. It is completely and totally irrelevant. I don’t need to get anything through my head regarding this because it is completely irrelevant to the issue at hand and has no bearing on the post. So you are now effectively trolling and adding nothing of any relevance to the post and generally being obnoxious and egotistical.
As I stated it was a stupid idea. Mailing items that will end up being deleted is stupid. Not housing inactive players and their items on a separate server is also stupid. I have a strong grip on reality and what it costs to house data, apparently you do not.
I appreciate your response on what blizzard did, but I don’t need your idiotic opinion on why they did it or to defend what is a terrible policy for trying to retain players or get players to return to the game. This game is about subs, maybe you should get that through your thick skull, because without enough subs this game will die. Believe it or not not everyone is as dedicated as a fanboi as you are.
If you don’t care then don’t respond. And if you’re going to try to “help” people on the forums maybe try not being so condescending.
politics has entered the chat.
Quests get pretty boring and repetitive.
Its not so much the gold persay as it is taking things away from people and not giving them anything in exchange for it. But really the bigger issue is removing honor entirely only to bring it back.
But for someone like me its basically a big FU to all the time I spent in BG’s. Even the gold doesn’t really make up for that.
PS - thats a scare tactic that has been peddled for decades so we can be politically divided.
