All ip's will become mobile (warcraft included)

Aww yeah. Pet battles, go go go!

Also, we've been able to play a functional part of WoW from a mobile app since WoD.
?

Of course they will, they are a business and want to make money.

This is a given. It has nothing to do with the video being legit, or not.

It has nothing to do with us playing Wow, nor will it affect Wow in a detrimental way.

They only thing they could possibly put on a phone, while still having it connected to in game Wow, would be things like AH, Mission board (like now) and possibly something like pet battles.

Right now, seeing the money that was made for something like Fortnite on the mobile market, they are like big chain stores when they saw the money Amazon was making on the Internet. They think they have to at least have a presence in that market; Just ask someone like Sears what can happen when you don't (or come in to late, or not hard enough.)

Sears was the mail order king, back in the early days. They should not have been trying to COMPETE with Amazon; They should have already been DOING THIS, as soon as the Internet existed in a form that had web pages and possible eCommerce. The amazing thing is that they DIDN'T.

Again, making a mobile Diablo game has nothing to do with Diablo 4 on the PC. It isn't like the people who would be, or are, making Diablo 4 were suddenly yanked to make a mobile game. it would be a completely different group of people, while it only makes the brand more successful.

People getting all bent out of shape about this, is one of the weirdest things I've seen here in 14 years of playing this game.
I despise mobile games with every fiber of my being. They are literally nothing but cash grabs. I really hate to see so many companies moving in that direction.

Can't do any raids pvp or dungeons on phone so maybe a new game but not wow will be on mobile.

Funny, that's just what Diablo players thought about Diablo.
This whole thing reminds me of how Blizzard stopped making all their new games started with Overwatch for Mac only. The new warcraft doesn't count since its not as hard on CPU.

Having a market presence and prostituting one of your cornerstone franchises as an entry in that market seem quite radically different.

Certainly, Blizzard's name is big enough worldwide that it could have developed a brand new game just for mobile without dealing a blow to its 20+ year fan base who were rightly expecting that any Diablo news necessarily would involve another PC release?

smh

the words he said don't mean what those words mean.

I'm sure what was said in the video was meant by the person.

.. but what the op put in quotes, was not what was said.

That was just made up by them, then put in quotes to mislead... and that's the nice name for what they are doing.

Here's another thread from them, posted just now: https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20769608888

Ok, yes. The quote the OP made seems inaccurate. The core message from the thread title however is true. The quote I provided, word for word, straight says they are working on getting all their titles on mobile. You are basically arguing semantics when the core message is true and I find that in and of itself, misleading.
People have been running missions on their phones since WOD. It seems a little late to get upset about it. Is your thinker turned on?
It was said that there were going to be mobile games for all of their IPs. That doesn't automatically translate into "all our games will become mobile". That just means there's going to be mobile games based on the IPs in question.

Developing all IPs on mobile does not mean WOW on mobile. It means they are creating mobile games based off of each IP. So there will be a Warcraft based mobile game sometime in the future but it will not be WOW. WOWs mechanics would not be workable on a phone.

So they will be dumbed down to work on a phone.

Please tell me you understand that this definitely could happen. Doesn't mean it will tomorrow, but the next Diablo release being solely for mobile and not PC is very, very disturbing on a lot of levels.
the title of thread is best news of the day! xD

Using logic and reason they want a piece of that China market. The way the announcement went down was definitely because Blizzard lacked good judgement. This isn't some sudden shift though, this is them expanding their market. That is it. The PC player base is very profitable by itself and I don't think they'd abandon it if there was profits to me made. And there is plenty of it to be had. They just want more money.

Heck, Immortal lacks a lot of what Diablo has anyway. They acknowledged this as well when someone asked about certain features. They have also already said that there are multiple Diablo projects in the works. So, it's safe to say that a Diablo game for PC is among them (probably Diablo 4).

TL/DR: The sky isn't falling. Use your heads people.

He is correct, but he link fails hard.

No he's not.

1) They are not making "all ip's mobile"
2) They said "We have some of our best developers working on.." not the top developers have been put on the mobile products of the IP's" The text the op put in quotes does not actually happen in the video.

The op is hilariously misconstruing things.

Shh. They're busy being outraged here.
How dare blizzard make video games for a platform that's 50% of the market.

All of this doom and gloom over mobile games is pretty amusing.

They said "We have some of our best developers working on.."

They actually said "many," not "some." Just to be pedantic. Doesn't change the point. Sounded to me like the kind of thing you say to reassure people that the new product won't suck, nothing more.

Pretty much. As usual people are reading way too much into this.

1. warcraft heroes mobile(rts/action)
2. diablo immortal mobile
3. overwatch fighter/kart racer
4. starcraft mobile

Just a reminder that while I'm not a fan of Diablo immortal, the game is not the problem. If they announced it alongside D4, D1/2 remake, or D3 expansion, it wouldn't be an issue. The fear that's being spread is that Blizzard is moving away from PC to the mobile market. I absolutely refuse to believe there's any truth to that.

If mobile titles are off-spec projects they work on alongside their mainline titles, then it's whatever. If Diablo 4 is being worked on, then i'm cool with immortal existing. Just don't present it in away that suggest that's all you've got coming.
I mean...

This post indicates you are in some kind of denial because if you just actually read the words they said at the press conference, even watch it for verbal auditory context, it seems pretty clear they are set on focusing on mobile.
Oh no, blizzard is making MORE games on MORE platforms! Damn them! Soon I will be abl.. er HAVE to play every IP at any time no matter where I am. Like if I am on a bus or riding far out of town with nothing do, I'll have to play diablo3 on my switch. And if im at the doctors waiting room I'll be playing sc2 on my phone! The horror!

Snowfox, im sorry but you are being completely braindead.

Blizzard SAID that they are. They themselves said it. Are you in denial? Wake up.

They have spent 6 years in development and they have no PC release to show for it?

Please, tell me you're just kidding.

IP digital asset leases are funny creatures. It is quite usual for such leases to confer exclusive rights to the IP for the life of the lease. In fact, this is very, very common. And since it's the property being leased (not the platform) if Blizzard/Netease has such a lease, that would easily explain why there's no PC release at this time.

PS. No objection to Blizzard entering the Chinese market, but doing so to the exclusion of the Western market is not a good sign at all.
