Chris Metzen actually commented about this in a long-form podcast (that you will have to find on your own) a few months ago. Cataclysm was a chaotic time at Blizzard with Alex Afrasiabi (who wrote that quest line) needing to make up for Metzenās absence (busy on the Warcraft film and other things).
Alex is now the head of Creative Development, aka the āwritersā, now interestingly enough, basically fulfilling Metzenās role. Infamously part of the same guild as Kaplan from the EQ days.
I meanā¦ Undercity literally a giant hot zone rihgt now and completely uninhabitableā¦
And we murdered our own people while doing it too.
Horde arenāt bright when it comes to military tactics, we just got handed the dues-ex bomb that preventing the alliance from completely rolling us over, because plagueās stupid.
I burn almost all cities left standing if it means a revamp/update to how out of date some of them look compare to Legion and BfA new citiesā¦

The Horde died with Sadfang. There is no more Horde pride.
But you at least got a few cinematics which would even put Hollywood to shame to show for it. 
Jaina had a chance after getting the focusing iris to flood Ogrimmar with it. After what happened at Theramore. Thats when the devs along with Chris Metzen and the narrative team prevented that from happening. But when it comes to destroying an alliance faction city. They turn a blind eye and let it happen. Thatās pretty much horde favortism right there. Then you get some stupid excuse saying that Zuldazar raid was payback for Teldrassil. Yet the nightelves didnt even support that raid. Because they wanted Anduin to help them reclaim darkshore.

I will agree that Stonetalon Mountains was more intended as a general stone throw towards all of your faction in general.
Well we may have lost Teldrassil but at least our leaders donāt plague our own armies.
