It is random. Even if you get the same battleground 10 times in a row, that doesn’t mean it’s not random.
I dont think you know what random means.
Maybe the game just picks a BG each week to be the top one.
Who knows?
Jealous. I love that place. Mostly because it’s hard to mess up. Not impossible, but at least it’s somewhat straightforward. Stand carts, spin mid, ???, $$$.

there is no “random” in ANY bgs, period. All contrived and predetermined in my humble opinion

Deep haul is better than temple… but I always get BFG… which is a decent map.

Random means exactly that: random. True random numbers can have streaks, patterns, etc. Random doesn’t mean a different battleground every match.

There’s plenty of great videos on YouTube talking about how true random numbers work and also why people are actually really bad at picking out what numbers were created via RNG and what numbers were made by a Human.
Getting the same battleground 5 times in a row is unlikely, but not statistically improbable.
You can disagree all you want, but this is literally objective math.
Also to further complicate things, computers can’t even generate truly random numbers on their own. While the numbers generated are effectively random for the purposes they are used for, they are actually fully deterministic values generated according to a seed.
TLDR: Random doesn’t mean what you think it means. What you actually want are some built in protections to prevent you from joining a battleground match if it was the same map you were in last time. IE: you don’t want random battlegrounds, you want semi-random battlegrounds.

Tried this one the other week, and it was kinda fun. I never picked up the crystal or whatever since I didn’t know what to do with it. Mainly tried to help keep carts and kill. 
All it takes is 1 person specific queueing Deephaul Ravine to increase the chances of you landing in a lobby when you queue Random BG.
lol I saw my friend playing and that was all that he was getting.
He was in pain over this but all I could do was laugh. Really? What gives with this anomaly?
Leveling 79 bracket BGs with my Girlfriend’s rogue yesterday we got a bit of every map but most often Deephaul and Warsong Gultch, which I enjoyed.
