Yeah I think it can be done actually.
Think about it.
Create one new instance that’s MASSIVE. And then copy/past all the old zones into it. Delete the old ones along with the old instances. Boom. Outland would obviously still need to be seperate.

I can see it now. Constant lag. Freeze frame and stuttering in every zone.
So no change?
The Sha of Anger spawns. There are 200 players there on a busy realm. Your game freezes for 20 seconds. You miss the tag.
This happens now.
Oh great the Earthquake expansion has caused elementals to rise up , we need to take care of them champions otherwise Azeroth is doomed
no actually it can’t because they are on completely seperate instances. it is quite clear you twohave NO CLUE what you are talking about. there is a reason you CAN’T FLY IN GHOSTLANDS.
that require them to completely remake the game from the ground up. ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. you clearly have NEVER worked in programming at all if you think this is that easy. you don’t just copy paste stuff. this ISN’T HOW CODING WORKS. this is 10 yr olds think coding works.
You realize code can be changed and these can be made into a single bigger instance right? You really don’t know how to think out of the box. You are the one with “NO CLUE”!
Also, with enough computing power and programming most anything is possible.
now its quite obvious you have no clue how coding works im done with you…profile hidden yep i think we all know what you all are.
You obviously have no clue how coding works…
Who cares you don’t know the first thing about what are talking about.
Not sure, but you only speak for yourself… So, who is “we”?
Thanks for trolling me!
How many Morbius watchings would it take to fly to outland?
Logistics and technology for such on WoW’s dinosaur engine wouldn’t support it. Sounds cool, till you realize it will be a long flight, and you most likely will die from fatigue. Not in game fatigue, IRL fatigue just from the sensory depravation of the ocean.
They would do something like this and remove all portals. You cool with that?
Could I see Blizzard adding the Azuremyst Isles and Quel’thalas to the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor land masses without needing a loading screen? Possibly.
But there’s no way Blizzard will ever waste time creating a single world space where you can fly from Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor.
It could be done, but it would be a waste of effort, because no one will make that flight. Not only would there be nothing for well over an hour of flying time but ocean, but you wouldn’t even make it five minutes before you died from fatigue.
Space goats really shouldn’t be in the game, the devs are terrified of letting any light touch that everest sized plot hole that is an interstellar laser ship that can blow up entire TONS of rock and melt even the strongest enemy with the press of a button.
Where were the space goats when the massive world tree right next door went up like it was wood soaked in kerosine? (Never getting over the meaningless use of genocide that blizzard didn’t have the writing chops to justify, hope they learned their lesson)
You literally just copy/past the entire thing. All coding is, is lines of code. But the old code for all the instances in a new/separate instance folder.
The only real labourous work would be making silvermoon a real city rather than the glitchy mess it is from the air. But Exodor doesn’t have that problem and they did that to all the cities in cata this would just be one city.
idk why but that gives me anxiety.
At compile time, yes. In real-time execution, you have to put all of Azeroth’s open-world fiddly bits in one environment, and then poll them all to see who has line-of-sight on whom.
Everything in Kalimdor, EK, Northrend, Pandaria, the Wandering Isle, Nazjatar, Azuremist, Quel’Thalas, and a few places I’ve forgotten.
That’s what will make the servers hock a furball and die screaming. There are ways around it, but it’s considerably harder than a simple copy and paste.
More like the map in 2032
And in that case, we could just build land bridges or take very short flight paths lol.
