All Add Ons Out of Date

All of my add ons besides DBM say that their out of date and when I load them anyways I notice a significant decrease in fps and overall performance. When I run the game without any add-ons I get at least 50-100 more fps in raids and much less choppiness. I have tried re-installing all of my add-ons, re-installing the game and I have no luck.

when you reinstall the addons
first of course, uninstall them
then make sure the interface folder is empty

Then go surgically clean the wtf folder
you will find pieces of addon LUA in there
you want those gone.

alternately, you can just move the whole wtf folder, wow will recreate it
but you will have to reset your UI

Anyways, now fire up the game and log into all of your toons one time.
Then exit the game.

Now reinstall an addon
You may want to reinstall only 1 or two at a time and check, in case an addon you use actually has an issue.

PS
Your FPS is dropping because you are churning LUA errors
if you turn those errors back on, you may be able to pinpoint the offending addon/LUA file

I had the same issue, and didn’t know this information. Thanks!

Thanks for your help but unfortunately this is not the case. I tried your steps and even after download one add on like Details! it says that the add on is out of date. :frowning:

are you sure that addon has actually been updated? sometimes it takes a while and sometimes it never happens

I update them through twitch everyday, the udpates are their. But for some reason my client thinks that they’re out of date. And it every single add on. Not just 1 or 2

i see, you never said how many addons you are using. you just said all of them

Update - I have tried uninstalling wow and getting rid of all files associated to wow and even with downloading Details! again through curseforge it is out of date.

Out of date you just have to ignore
that or you can update the LUA to say its not out of date, but no point in that.

Out of date does not mean does not work.

Im only looking to help you not have FPS eating LUE errors

If WoW client says X and addon says Y WoW reports it as out of date

If you are curious, the game API has a version number it reports

The addon has a TOC file that says what version it was created for
If game says a number different than the addon’s TOC it shows as out of date, even if it is still working just fine.
