I cannot figure out how a pure dps class can be so lousy and still be ignored. What’s the deal?

In all seriousness, Blizzard did buff MSV a bit (so expect to see them more in M+ runs), and Blizzard seems to be banking on the legendary bow to help buoy BM and MM’s damage.
(Of course, most Hunters are dubious that’d work out, but that’s what’s going on.)

Overall dps matters less than when and how you can burst.
MM hunters were never at any point in this tier god tier in single target dps. The reason why top guilds spammed hunters was because MM burst window was perfect for the hardest bosses in the raid.

Yea, with how the bow was performing on ptr, we will still stay in the bottom 10. For people who can’t get the bow, you will be bottom of barrel.
Msv did get buffed, but honestly not enough to matter. Its about the same level as mm without the bow. I tried it in lfr last night and it was god awful.
Nothing like being punished just bc you play the class that gets the legendary. Too bad even it sucks too.

I’m an old warlock, so I picked up the syntax of “pure dps class, lousy, ignored” because that’s practically warlock history to a tee, with some notable outliers. Edit: in all my 12 years, Blizzard never really got warlock DPS quite right with even one spec, let alone all three.
Edit: Plus the situational irony. Though I switched to Hunter on an accidental idea(on a dare by a certain Trade chat troll), I had no idea since WoD I was going from one lousy, ignored pure DPS to another arguably lousy, ignored pure DPS.

We are the cutest and they had to make our DPS output stink so everyone else wouldn’t just cry the whole time and unsubscribe like they did in 8.3.

That’s why my campaigning against “MeleeCraft” has been received poorly at best last xpac. You can’t even ask for equal damage time between the two range types. Hunter as a class community get something nice for the first time since TBC was retail(do I need to remind anyone how long ago that was?) and already comes the excrement storm. It’s like we grinned and bore it through all the times melee got nice things. How is this fair?
Noticed how hard MM has fallen off over the season.
It is NOT scaling well, at all.
And they nerfed it on top of everything…
MM’s ST has always been trash with the M+ build, and after they destroyed the interaction serpent sting had with wild spirits, even our AOE went down the toilet.

Idk but I’m having a heck of a good time leveling this survival hunter up. The toolkit is awesome.

leveling is nothing like end game
If you’re casual like me, endgame is whatever I feel like doing. Won’t care about my dps till I actually start getting into group content.
I understand that, but if you don’t do the true end game, you should refrain from talking about balance.

The raids start next week. I’m hoping the small guild I run with will have people come back so we can run the properly. My guild went Horde so I am not doing that.
When we see where we truly are, which I do think will be in the lower end, then well I guess we can mop and moan here. For me, as Aoex stated, I’ll be having fun my this 6% rep Hunter.
