Been months and still cannot place the flask cauldron. The placement circle will be green but the message is always “You cannot place that here.” Have tried it in a party, a raid, out of party, in dungeons, delves, raids, outside world, on floors, walls, ceilings, underwater, above water, one time I dropped mount while flying just to see if it would work in the sky (it did not), bars, the AH, that secret room with the cow (there is no cow room), et al.
Would love it to be something as simple as I am doing it wrong but customer support told me to post it in the bug report forum so here I am.

This is still not working and in game support is of no help at all. Standard - “disable addons” to no avail. Has anyone figured this out., really makes me question why I waste any time at all with professions in this game.
I am not sure what changed but I was suddenly able to use mine in my raid inside the raid instance a few weeks ago. Have not tried it again. Whole issue seems arbitrary and inconsistent.
It is ridiculous and I swear their support responses are just AI.
Side note the Cauldron disappeared from my inventory this morning - just gone. Crafting sucks in this game.

I seem to be having this issue as well. Amazing. Can’t place it down anywhere. Love that I invested so much gold and mats into this just to not use it lol.
