I would like to discuss this hero talent tree and the build I’ve seen used by Yoda and a few other high end veng demon hunters.
This is the build and I’m wondering if anyone else is experimenting with it. I’ve tried it and it seems to do well with survival and dps. It’s interesting to say the least. Before anyone says it… Yes, I know Fel-Scarred is recommended for everything but just with my own normal player testing the DPS is not that far off from each other and I’ve experienced higher sustained aoe dps with this build then Fel-Scared.
With regards to survival I feel like I can pull a lot more and take more damage. It could be that I have a better rotational understanding of this build compared to the Fel-scared but it does seem to be a viable option that I keep switching back to.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has tried it and what are your thoughts?
In single target Reaver is going to do a bit better when you are playing it well. The big issue most people have is Fel scarred is much easier to play. but yes I find AR quite fun to play as vengeance. Survival wise you get generally more soul generation from AR so you are going to get more self healing from said souls. and a bit more soul bombs and such going out because of the extra souls. I think AR definitely has a higher skill floor as well as ceiling which is likely where you are starting to see a few high end people mess with it.

ar has a high skill ceiling but alot of people even high end arnt near that level of play yet. even yoda is probably hovering around 60% of whats possible with ar
that being said, these players are playing giga aggressively and using their entire damage kit to hold threat. something the average player doesnt do. that being said, please play spirit bomb and felscarred, im tried of being promoted to tank everytime i invite a vdh that plays yoda builds. its getting so bad that people arnt inviting vdh players to keys anymore.
AR is tankier then Fel-scarred. They are simply playing it for higher keys to survive massive hits.
well the sigil of flame bug doesn’t help with reaver’s aoe sitiation. sigil into hunt is a likely opener and since sigil is bugged to not generate threat unless you are already in combat…
I’ve been playing this build all weekend and my survivability feels so much better. Much much less of a ping pong health bar. What I liked about the yoda build as well is your playing into your tier set fully all the time. The biggest issue I had was threat sometimes at the start of bigger pulls because your target capped. I actually put the point you can move around From grip sigil into thorns and it helped a lot to hold threat on the big pulls. Most of my pulls though I’m carrying in a fresh fel devastation and a reaver proc and I’ll fell dev first global then do the Aoe damage reaver sequence.
