Alchemy - What to use extra Transmutagens on?

Is there anything we can use extra transmutagens on?
Right now I have over 1,000 of the Mercurial, Ominous, and Volatile mats and nothing to do with them.
Even blowing through all 8 of the transmutation charges and you seem to net more mats then you use.
Am I missing something, or are we supposed to just vendor them?

Transmute the transmutagens! If you plop them in the thaumaturgy box you can turn them into a giant pile of mats if you have 1000 of them lol

I actually never realized you could do that to the transmutagens as well. Thought it was only for normal crafting reagents.
