A trinket that i didn’t see on the priest discord trinket selections was this one. With crafters mark 4 we can get that trinket to 240 ilvl. Im happy to be corrected.
It’s an interesting prospect, but it’ll still be competing with an ilvl 252 Unbound Changeling (if you’re lucky with the vault). It really depends if your mana is really running low on fights, which is heavily dependent on covenant as Night Fae will never run out of mana. The int buff would be very interesting though, and likely stack with other % primary stat buffs.
As for trinket #2, even with the ilvl differences, I don’t see any of the new trinkets beating out Cabalist Hymnal. The extra crit over 30 seconds every 1 min will beat out any of the paltry healing you’d be getting from the new trinkets from raid. And this is even if your dps have swapped out of hymnals for the new trinkets. You’d lose only 15-24 int running the Hymnal at heroic+ but you gain a much better trinket effect.
Edit: Didn’t see Titanic Ocular Gland until just now. Would definitely be BiS especially since you can always go above 50% as a healer with leech. The only problem is you deprive a dps of it and more dps is simply better for raid.
tome of insight? i think dratnos said it had 2 procs per minute
It would depend on the duration of the proc. You’d also take a hefty hit in primary stat. Unbound Changeling is arguably better since it can reach higher ilvl, a more flexible proc depending on your needs by eating the right food, and still retains a 1.5 proc per minute.
By the time we unlock some of these things we’ll already have higher iLvl trinkets which is what stinks.

Provided Tome of Insight nerf which is rumored to be tomorrow is a real thing, expect those uptimes to change. If they remain unchanged, Tome of Insight is indeed the downright best trinket to have. If the Procrate does change, it’ll once again be competing with Hymnal, Titanic Ocular Gland, Unbound Changeling, etc.
As for the Alchemist Trinket, it’s surprisingly amazing (for the moment at least). The proc gives a total of 318 intellect, the effects stack with % primary increases like Celestial Guidance enchantment and Necrolord. When it’s up, it’s extremely noticable. As I’m not going to be running Night Fae, I will definitely be using this trinket on any fights where I feel mana is an issue not addressable by the other tools currently given.
On the side of DPS, however, it may be harder to sync this trinket up for your DPS cooldown windows, and something like the Gladiator’s trinket of Ferocity with its 1 min CD is much better for timing in addition to giving crit instead of verse. However, if you’re avoiding pvp, the 230 alchemist trinket is a good substitute, giving almost equivalent secondary stats and a higher primary stat proc than even the 2100 glad trinket use.

How are ya’ll getting tier 4? Are you farming non-stop?
Not exactly non-stop, but getting to cap asap (there’s essentially a hard cap on how many research fragments you can get per day). Every rare you can, every treasure, and farming relic holding mobs as much as you can. Then going into the rift to get every riftbound cache spawn and once a week, 5 stolen anima vessels.
Problem being other classes aren’t equipping hymnal anymore, significantly reducing its value. It’s still good, but it’s not our bis anymore even at mythic level unless holy. We’re back to being stuck with Changeling/Soulletting Ruby on Disc at least considering insight is worse. Holy can make more use out of a mythic Hymnal’s consistency. But for a Disc priest who center themselves around ramps, SLR should be better.
