Just a quick question for those who are going this route in their alchemy. I have used Thaumaturgy approx. 100 times now and have not yet procced any new recipes to use. I can see in the recipes tab that some of them require certain spec unlocks but others don’t. Is me not procing a bug, as intended until after EA, or am I just extremely unlucky?
My guess is that you won’t be able to get access to some of the recipes until the professions fully open with the official expansion going live.

Serious question: What exactly is a profession specialty?
So far, almost everything about professions seems to be running normal for me other than a lack of Acuity and Profession quests/orders.
I can skill up normally, gain knowledge through crafts and treasures normally, unlock specializations and pick points normally.
The little trees that you select when you get knowledge points? And they are able to be selected for you? Their blue article said that those would NOT be open.
Yeah, I have all three trees opened up and points placed in one of them.
well happy accidents. That is exciting. I was just planning on doing basic crafting but if I can get the trees going too… Heck yeah.
I have not opened any Alchemy trees yet, but my Herbalism is wide open for all three trees and I have 13 points placed.

How have people made blasphemite then? or is that from mining maybe? I went hard on it thinking the blues were open for transmuting and I guess not.

Where do you get the philosophers stone to start using thaumaturgy? I cant find it.
Two easy routes to get one if you just picked up alchy.
A) use a spare spark from DF to create an alchemist stone trinket
B) spend like 200g to level up Classic alchemy, make 50 lesser healing pots, then buy the original philo stone recipe from gadgetzan.
