so i put 15 pts into flasks for extended duration and then 30 points into potions/10 into alchemy mastery. problem is, i can craft 3 star flasks but with more points into potions, i can only get 2 star. so why is this? is there something i am missing to boost potions to 3 star? the skill requirements is super high for potions compared to flasks for some reason.
Check the skill required and did you put any points into any of the
herbs?

won’t matter though, UI says i need 298 skill to gaurentee 2 star mana pots w/o concentration which is insane.
what i find weird is being able to craft 3 star flasks with minimal skill investment compared to a basic mana pot.
I found your problem. Mana pots don’t fall under the “potions” tab so none of your potion skill points apply. Why are mana potions and health potions not under the potions tab? FIIK.
EDIT: This is wrong. Potion skill applies to mana and healing potions despite them not being under the potion tab.

what the heck? now i have 30 wasted points into potion mastery b/c of this.
this has to be a bug or an over sight?
At the moment I am 182 skill for crafting mana pots with rank 1 herbs and 226 with rank 3 herbs (dont have any rank 3 gilded vial but that would make a difference too).
I need 298 to get to rank 2.
My points come from 100 profession level + 18 from common profession tools + 50 from speccing in alchemy mastery + 10 for maxing out the alchemy mastery tree +3 for opening alchemy master tree plus 1 for 1 point in blessing bloom lore sub-tree.
I can get 79 more from fully speccing in blessing bloom and mycobloom lore sub-trees + 16 from bonuses in those sub-trees plus 16 (approx) extra bonuses from rare tools - ie another 111 which gets me to 293 - still not rank 2 guaranteed with rank 1 herbs. If potions counts that gets me comfortably over rank 2… but still needing a lot of concentration for rank 3. Seems pretty sad to me.
Im pretty sure the potion tree skill points do count - Ill check after reset. The opening poster has different points specced than me - I get 63 additional points from my spec with no points in potions yet. The opening poster would get 13 from alchemy mastery (10+3) plus 60 from potions - making 73 - which is not very different than me and still way under rank 2.
it looks like i have to max alchemy mastery and a few sub skills as well and then use 3 star vials that cost 340g per for 3 star mana potions? that’s absurd.
You want to max Alchemical Mastery anyways. It gives skill for everything you make with Alchemy.
Then you have to decide what you want to focus on next. I’ll probably pick flask or potions and worry about healing potions later but that’s up to you. If you did want to do healing potions the next step after Alchemical mastery would be to focus on one of ther herbs that is used in a healing potion.
